La Fountain Mexican Restaurant was established in Utah in 2009 by the Ramos Brothers, who migrated from San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Utah. The hard-working and dedicated brothers worked for more than 15 years and decided to unite efforts and savings to open their first restaurant in West Valley City, initiating the achievement of their American Dream.

I ordered a grilled chicken taco. Just the single taco. They charged 8 dollars for this. It was so dry and plain. All that was in it was a little grilled chicken which was dry, shredded cheese and iceberg shredded lettuce. The tortilla claims to be homemade. It did not taste good. My dad is from Mexico. I know what homemade tortillas are supposed to taste like. I would have gotten better tasting food from Taco Bell.
I gave the service a 3 star because although the person was nice, they got my order for drinks wrong.
The atmosphere was just like a typical looking Mexican restaurant. Nothing special.
I definitely will not be going back and I will not be recommending this place to anyone. Ever!

They used to be really good. This time something was wrong with the enchilada sause. Mt boyfriend had the enchiladas. He said they tasted terrible and just picked at them. He ended up getting really sick. Maybe they have a new cook? Or kept the sause too long?

While trying to choose a place to eat tonight we chose to eat at our local LaFountain and not at one of the new restaurants we have here now. We have gone to this restaurant many many times. For the most part the food is good, the service is hit and miss. Tonight we were seated in the table around in the hidden corner…we waited 20 min to be waiting on. Our food came in a timely manner but that’s it. We sat for the entire meal no drink refills no one came again until we went and told her we needed boxes and the our checks. Then this is the kicker…our checks had an 18% gratuity added on. We went to pay and told the “manager” we weren’t tipping 18%. We explained our experience to the manager and were met with a huge not care attitude, The manager basically said screw you, you are tipping 18% for terrible service.
With all these new restaurants coming out here you would think these old ones would want to treat there repeat locals with a little more respect. You just lost us…with all these new restaurants and new choices we will not pick you next time.

4 adults and 2 toddlers somehow qualified for automatic gratuity, yet we received no service. Drinks were never refilled. Food took 45 minutes. No check-ins. We had to get our own to-go boxes and track down the waitress just to get the bill.
Then came the insult: $11 gratuity for being ignored the entire meal.
The manager was even worse — refused to remove the gratuity, refused to discount anything, and insisted the full bill was “fair.” Absolutely unreal.
We will never come back. Save yourself the frustration and go wait at Chili’s — at least they’ll acknowledge you exist.

I have eaten here quite a few times. Food was decent and hot. Service has never been great but its okay. My wife and I had dinner here and the food was not very good my meal was Luke warm to the point the food was refrigerator cold. My wife had fish tacos 3 comes with the meal. 1 was taco the fish was properly cooked the other 2 were raw fish. The fish taco meal was removed from the bill. I doubt we will go back anytime soon. Very disappointed.

Food (my special ribs) was amazing as always but I just want to say thank you to our amazing waitress Yohana! Her kindness, positive attitude, vibe, and beautiful smile made our dining experience so enjoyable. She was attentive without being intrusive and made us feel like valued guests. People like her make all the difference! We truly loved her smile.

The service was very good, the staff is friendly and relatively quick for how large my party was. However, if you like traditional Mexican food this is not the place for you. Personally I’m really not a fan of Mexican food covered in cheddar cheese. It’s not very Mexican to me and frankly my food was hard to swallow and tough to look at. I didn’t like the salsa or the sauce on my enchiladas either. If you like Americanized Mexican food this place is perfect for you. But if you’re a bit picky when it comes to your Mexican food I would not recommend it. Also a little pricey.
