For a first visit it wasnt bad. Me and a friend ment up here on a 9-24-25( Wednesday) for lunch. The inside is decorated nicely and very clean. Little chilly at first but staff adjusted that when asked. The food we god was.good and service was great. Staff was very friendly.

I rarely take the time to write negative reviews, but my experience at Don Tequila Restaurant was so remarkably bad that I feel a public service announcement is necessary. If you are looking for a pleasant meal, do yourself a favor and keep driving.
The Service: Nonexistent
The service wasn’t just slow; it was practically nonexistent. We sat for ages before anyone even acknowledged our presence, and once we finally ordered, the wait for the food was astronomical. When we tried to flag someone down for basic needs like water or silverware, we were treated like a massive inconvenience.
The Food: Cold and Stale
For the prices they charge, you’d expect fresh food. Instead, what arrived was:
• Stone Cold: It felt like our plates had been sitting in the back for twenty minutes before someone bothered to bring them out. tortillas felt like they had been sitting out all day.
Uninspired: Even if the temperature had been right, the flavors were bland and lacked any of the authenticity you’d expect from a place with this name.
The Staff: Major Attitude Problems
The worst part of the evening was the staff. From the host to the servers, the attitude was palpable. There was zero hospitality, only eye rolls and short, rude responses to simple questions. It is clear that the employees here either hate their jobs or have been trained to treat customers with total indifference.
Final Verdict
Don’t waste your hard earned money or your evening on this place. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area that actually value their customers and serve food that is actually edible. Go literally anywhere else.

Idk what’s going on but every time I order the queso fundido the recipe is different and the price goes up. Last time it was all milk and no meat. This time it has meat like it should but the cheese is different and it is so thick I can’t even dip a chip into it without it breaking . I even heated the cheese up to a boiling point in the microwave and it does not liquify. After 5 mins it completely hardened. Kinda bummed it was $14+ just for this.

My family and have been looking for a Spanish restaurant that service authentic puerto Rican food and this is the only place beside traveling all the way to Camden. They have an amazing selection of food and also found that that they have Dominican traditional dishes as well. They food is amazing and the portions size are great!! We order their family meals which definitely is an abundance of food and we are a family of four which we all eat and have left overs. So if your looking to eat real traditional Spanish food this is your place.

We came here after reading positive reviews, but unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. All the entrees that included rice were poorly cooked—some grains were hard while others were soft, clearly showing inconsistency (you can see the difference in the picture). We also ordered Long Islands, which were completely watered down and lacked any real flavor.
When we expressed our concerns, not only were we forced to pay for food we didn’t enjoy, but we were also told not to return simply because we didn’t like the food. The overall quality and service were unacceptable. We do not recommend this place. Our bill was $300, waste of money!!

This place is the ABSOLUTE WORST. If I could give it “0” review I would. Every time I order via Grubhub there are items missing. The first 3 times I thought it was an oversight. For the 4th time, once again item missing, this time the guacamole. Do NOT waste your money or time. It simply isn’t worth it. This is simply extremely poor management and oversight. If it happens to me EVERY TIME it sure is happening to others. Do yourself a favor and avoid the aggravation. You can support an actual good Mexican restaurant. Not this terrible and disrespectful place. I repeat: the absolute worst. I hope they don’t blame the driver as a classic cop out for their mediocrity. And by the way, you can find more reasonably priced places with BETTER food than this “restaurant”. Best of luck to you if you keep patronizing this place.

Love the place and food. Only thing that ruined the experience was our waitress. We had to flag her down several times. One of the ppl in our party actually had to leave early because she couldn’t order because the waitress was no where to be found. The waitress was made aware of this as well. The restaurant was empty because it was early (around 330) so it wasnt packed and she was waiting on other ppl. Other than her service, we love it there

I noticed the low ratings but I happen to love coming here especially during happy hour during the week after a long work day. My margaritas are perfect. Nachos are so yummy. And the wings are sooo good. Only con is, it’s not part of the happy hour. There’s a nice selection of drinks and food with a nice price point between $15-20.
Update: the wings are now part of Happy Hour on Wednesdays. Woohoo! By the way Cairo is the best for great customer service. Wasn’t so great with some of other staff who seem to be young and need more training with customer service.

I’m truly sorry, but this food is not good. Being Spanish and from NYC I was hoping this was going to be the spot since it’s so close to my house but I understand now this is the only Spanish food place near us . So that’s why they get business because baby if this was New York, they will be closed already. I seriously make better food than them!!!
People who enjoy this place don’t really know any better lol

Don Tequila is a pretty good restaurant overall and one of the better local spots for latin food. The food itself is tasty and usually fresh, especially if you order from the takeout side between 11 AM and 2 PM. Around that lunchtime window, everything comes out hot and flavorful, and you can really tell it’s just been made. Later in the day, though, the takeout can lose some of its freshness — the food can get a bit cold or feel like it’s been sitting for a while. So if you’re ordering out, timing makes a big difference.
The dine-in experience is good too, but one thing that could be improved is how the appetizers are served. Sometimes they come out at the same time as your main dish, really late, or even after you’ve already finished eating your entrée, which kind of defeats the purpose of having an appetizer. It’s not the end of the world, but it does throw off the meal a bit.
My only real complaint is that they don’t let you skip the second side. Even when you say you don’t want it, they still include it — and it feels wasteful. Overall, though, Don Tequila is a solid spot worth visiting.
