Opus Ocean Grill delivered exactly what a proper coastal steak and seafood house should.
The oysters were exceptional. Clean, cold, and fresh with the kind of balance that tells you they respect the product from dock to table. The lobster was equally impressive, perfectly prepared and rich without being heavy. The sea bass was the standout of the evening. Flawless execution, delicate texture, and seasoned in a way that elevated the fish without overpowering it.
What truly separates Opus, though, is the hospitality.
Brent runs a tight ship. You can feel strong leadership the moment you walk in. The room operates with purpose, confidence, and attention to detail. Brandon, our server, was outstanding. Professional, attentive, and present without hovering. He understood pacing, timing, and how to read the table, which is a rare skill.
This is how hospitality is supposed to feel. Exceptional food supported by a team that understands their role in creating a complete experience.

Fresh seafood daily, can confirm by taste and my husband’s preservation allergy (the preservation commonly used on frozen seafood to prevent it discoloring). We did not have any problems. Had the crab and corn chowder that had chunks of crabmeat and was deliciously rich. Husband enjoyed fresh oysters and I had the halibut special while he had the seafood with angel hair.
I would decline the table bread, it reminds me of a processed hot dog bun and served in a paper bag. Husband’s pasta was a little overcooked but otherwise delicious. Bread pudding amazing, it was both toasted and had custard texture. We plan to come back next time we’re in Houston!
Parking is plenty, but driveways and parking spots are narrow. If you are driving anything larger than a crossover (Rav4) you will struggle to maneuver and park without sticking out.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing time at Opus last night. We had drinks to start at the bar and the bartender was extremely friendly and attentive. We then got a table near a window and had Kai take care of us. She was wonderful!! Very knowledgeable on the wine and menu. We ended up getting one of the specials but I really just wanted the Ribeye. I haven’t had such an amazing dinner like that in a very long time. The timing of everything was perfect, the atmosphere was romantic, and our server was just above and beyond. We will definitely be back!!

I started with the Northern oysters on the half shell—they were fresh, briny, and absolutely perfect. At the bar, Eden recommended the crab-stuffed deep-fried jalapeños as a small plate, and it was a spot-on suggestion: delicious, with generous crab that truly shone through.
For my entrée, the red beans and rice with catfish strips was hearty, flavorful, and expertly prepared—pure comfort food elevated to fine dining.
Service was impeccable. Eden (who wore both bartender and server hats flawlessly) kept my drink refilled without fail and even went to the kitchen to fetch a superior hot sauce alternative to the standard Tabasco. It made all the difference.
For the quality of food, attentive service, and beautiful setting, the pricing felt more than fair—excellent value. Highly recommend Opus Ocean Grille for anyone seeking upscale seafood in the Clear Lake area. I’ll be returning soon.

Had a girls dinner here a few weekend ago, 5 of us and only one of us had been before. Everything we tried we enjoyed, service was excellent even though our server was busy. We all said we’d go back again! We sat outside & enjoyed the lit up trees and cooler weather.

Let me begin by saying this was so much more than we anticipated for a simple dinner date. When we walked in, the host asked if we had reservations. We didn’t, but he was able to seat us right away which was much to our delight. This hidden gem of a restaurant is located in the heart of South Shore Harbor with the gentle waves of Clear Lake lapping against the bulkheads in the marina less than 20 steps away. We couldn’t have been more impressed with the marriage of white tablecloth dining and casual but somehow upscale attire by both the patrons and waitstaff. It was a perfect mashup of a unique and exquisite dining experience! The halibut (not on the menu due to it being a seasonal offering) and tuna chiron were flavor explosions that resulted in our plates being completely empty and causing our wonderful waitress, Sally, to ask with her ever-present smile if we were up for dessert. Sadly, between the dinner dishes we enjoyed thoroughly and our incredible drinks from the bar (a Rosé Sangria and an Old Fashioned), we were unable to fathom the possibility of having dessert. Maybe next time because we will absolutely be back to this astounding and quietly located restaurant! You can never leave this place disappointed! If it is date night for you and your significant other, you will win points with her by taking her here. Bonus! You can enjoy a lovely dusk walk in the marina with sailboats and yachts lining all of the docks.

My wife and I went there on our anniversary on a Thursday evening around 5:30. We have never really visited the Clear Lake Shores area or this restaurant. While the photos and reviews looked, they certainly did not do this restaurant justice. Ricardo provided amazing service, and while the stuffed flounder was fantastic, the steak was out of this world.
As far as price goes, it’s a nice restaurant, so there’s going to be a price to pay. That being said, I didn’t find it to be any more expensive than a Saltgrass Steakhouse, but the food, atmosphere, and service were a step above what one gets at that place.

10 out of 10!! My friend found this venue and so glad that she did. The drinks, perfect The baked Oysters, chef’s kiss! My pasta was beautifully prepared, cooked to order, and wonderful. It was a little less seasoned than I preferred, but I added some salt, and it was delicious! Will definitely be returning for the food and beautiful marina views.
