Great pizza, but absolutely TURTTLE SLOW with inside orders. NOT BUSY INSIDE, but took over 25min to get 2 slices of pepperoni. CRAZY!!! Only two counter orders after me in that 25 min.

I cannot speak for the way they make pizzas or anything else at this location, this review is strictly on the chicken pecan salad that was made for me. I ordered extra chicken, extra pecan, and add bacon crumbles to the salad, and I received none of the above. I didn’t get extra chicken, I didn’t get extra pecan, no bacon crumbles, and they even forgot the blue cheese that is supposed to come standard in this salad. I ordered a full salad, and they only gave me one dressing with it. I understand that they were busy, but they had guidance buy the ticket for my order, and whoever made it did not read it, and the person at the checkout didn’t read the ticket either, so they didn’t catch the missing dressing that I was supposed to receive. If at all possible I will not be returning to this location. I paid extra for things that I didn’t get in my order, and they didn’t even make the original item correctly in the first place.

Dion’s food is always tasty, but I have to give a shout out to the staff at the Academy location for providing an outstanding family atmosphere and a clean restaraunt. We took a group of kids for a celebration, and the staff who was making the pizzas made it such a special experience for the kids who were watching. Smiles, laughter, friendliness, and a pepperoni smiley face on the glass (thanks “Jay”)! The experience really provided that something special and extra that made it feel truly family friendly, not just another place to be. I’d note that it was also exceptionally clean and well cared for.

One of the best Dion’s locations! Staff is very friendly, restaurant is always clean, and mountain views are a bonus. Really can’t go wrong with the Dion’s menu, but personal favorites are Turkey & Swiss and Italian subs and of course their pizza! Love classic pepperoni, lots of times with green chile to give it that New Mexican flavor, but whatever you’re into it’ll be delicious, it’s Dion’s, one of the most respectable Albuquerque businesses now going 45+ years strong!

I was told they were famous for their Pizza’s. So why not check them out. Service guy at the counter seemed to be completely glazed over. Took my order, but apparently entered it wrong, because 30 mins later when I got it, it wasn’t the right one. But told me that’s what I ordered. Was supposed to be something with green chokes, but instead got the carnivore.. it wasn’t alright, but if this is “famous”, then they need a true “rock star” to bring up their game.

Pizza was not cut all the way through and slices were uneven. I had to cut the pizza with a knife when I got home which resulted in the cheese sliding off. $40.00 for 2 uncut pizzas.

Look.. Dion’s is always pretty busy. Try your hardest not to get angry that you have to wait a little longer for your pizza. I don’t know that that’s going to change… If you want faster service there are other pizza places you can go to, they are not like Dion’s though!
I have told myself to order while I’m still at work so that by the time I get there it’s ready… I forget and then I order in the car and I arrived too early. I would say for most orders they really need a minimum of 45 minutes (dinner time). Put on a good audiobook and kick back while you wait! It’s always worth it imo! *I do wish there were rewards… I feel like I’ve eaten enough to earn a couple free cookies or brownies lol
*Tonight there was hail and lightning and thunder. There was a young man running out trying to take care of all us cars sitting around waiting for food. That’s great service. They don’t have to do that, they could just wait for us to come in the window and tell us to come back in 15 minutes or something. The fact that these guys run out in any kind of weather to take care of us.. Keep that in mind! Be kind to the staff!!!

I came back to ABQ for 2 days and 1 night and I brought a friend with me from Gilbert AZ and we met up with 3 old friends of mine from ABQ. Dions now has a new fan my buddy from Gilbert loved it just like the rest of us. 5 adult men devoured a large sausage, pepperoni, and green Chile pizza plus 5 drinks for under $40.00. Awesome food, great price, perfect atmosphere for 5 old friends to sit around and laugh harder than they have in a long time. Thank you Dions, please open up a store in Chandler or Gilbert AZ.

Every time I order from here, they either forget a dressing or a topping on my slice. It’s always something. The last five times I’ve ordered, you can always count on something missing. Love Dions. Check your orders before they go out.

Twice in a row now this Dion’s has messed up my online order. Sometimes I order from this location because the one a little closer to my house has longer wait times. Neither time did they offer anything to make up for my additional wait times while they started over. Dion’s has great food a really high quality ingredients, but I might have to give up on this location.
