Our server Charlie was great! I flew in From Detroit to see my cousin for the weekend and she suggested drinks at Mexico City. It was also my birthday and I was given a free bday drink along with excellent service and smiles. I insisted he take a picture with us. I wish I always received service like this and would recommend it to anyone who loves Mexican food and spirits with a great vibe ❤️

THEE best tacos I’ve in Colorado in the 3 years I’ve lived here. Service was authentic and awesome as the food. Clean, friendly, and great environment. We will be back again soon. Yum! Support local.

First of all, this place has great value. A generous pitcher of margaritas was 25.75. My wife and I split an appetizer and each had an entree for under $70.

The salsa was good but could use a little more salt. Just a little. The queso and guacamole were only ok.

I had the Chile Relleno Plata and loved every bite. My wife had one of the meals with a tostada and was less satisfied.

Service was both rushed and neglected. Our server was able to answer our questions and steer us to some basically good decisions.

Pretty cool spot. Nothing to get too excited about, though. Probably the most “real” joint in the area, good old school vibes. Fantastic spot if you’re a drinker. Food prices are quite reasonable, especially for this part of town.
The green chile has some tasty pork fat bits (that was gross to say…who am I?).
Taco shells are really greasy (heartburn city).
Would go back.
What do they close so early?!

Our favorite steak tacos in Denver!!! These aren’t in the same category as most other restaurants. They are not tiny little “street tacos.” The tacos are fried and come with avocado, lettuce, and tomatoes with a good-sized tortilla. Their hot sauce is also phenomenal and really adds to the taco. Good Margs and a super friendly down to earth staff. Without the carne asada (steak) tacos this place would get a 4-star review, but those carne asada tacos are really that good. Yum!!! I have also found that it is better to eat there as sometimes if the tacos sit in the to-go container, they lose some of the crunch.

When I first moved to downtown Denver in 2011 (lived here since 2008), I worked for the Gill Foundation which was only a few blocks away from this restaurant. As a Florida native, I was very used to Florida style Mexican food so I was very pleased to try Colorado style Mexican food and realize that it is different, but still just as delicious.

Fast forward to today, I still visit their location because I work near the Civic Center on the other side of the mall, but everything is always perfect.

Today, I was working from home and had a mad craving for their chili rellenos so I ordered them on doordash and everything was perfect. It brought me back to the first time I ate there. Also, their salsa taste just like my mom’s homemade salsa and it brings me home so that is a huge plus.

If you have never been there or ordered from there, I highly encourage it. Not only is there food delicious, but I have emailed the ownership with questions and comments and they always get back to me right away. That’s a really good sign that they truly care about their customers.

The waitress was very nice. The kitchen got the order wrong (the same way) twice. I got three kinds of tacos and they all tasted the same, like cheap hamburgers. Definitely not worth $6 per taco.

We have been here numerous times in the past & have always enjoyed the tacos. First we ordered tea – couldn’t drink it as it was probably a couple of days old. Got the tacos & the grease smell was overwhelming – ate two of the tacos and all I can say is that the quality is no longer there with minimum cheese & burnt in places ! The waiter had to be waved down to get water but he sure was more attentive to another couple who came in after us – guess he judged by way we were dressed, but we tipped 20% as always – will not recommend like we used to or spend our money here again. Thanks for listening….

First time visiting here and visited during happy hours. They have $8 margaritas and $3 beer selections. Like other reviewers mentioned before the chips and salsa served were really bland and cold. Kinda tasted like store bought ones maybe even worse. The margaritas were decent and fried tacos tasted good. Overall a decent mexican joint but there is better options in the nearby areas.

The best tacos in town…don’t tell anyone. No menu required; just sit down, get a shot and beer and say “three steak”. You will be rewarded. Make sure to get the special sauce from the fridge
