If you’ve never had the caramel roll at Charlie’s, you’re missing out. This thing is massive…literally about the size of my head.. and absolutely drenched in caramel. Not a polite drizzle either…we’re talking full on caramel waterfall.
Soft and ridiculously gooey, it’s clinically addictive.
Biscuits and gravy, then a caramel roll to go is the best way to start my day.

I’ve been coming for years, the soups are home made and absolutely the best, I even get them and freeze some for those cold winter nights, of course the caramel rolls are the best in town. But better than all of that are the owner and her wonderful staff. Friendly, caring, thinking of others, it makes all the difference and it is our Sunday go to, and anytime we want to feel like home while also eating great food. Thank you Charlies for making our family the meals we love and a place for us to enjoy your company and ourselves!

Staff is extremely friendly. Coffee was great. Not sure what to eat? Just ask Tiffany, she is ready to offer recommendations. While I didn’t have the caramel roll, it is HUGE and looked delicious. Keep up the great job and excellent customer service. Next time I’m in town I’ll be sure to come back.

If you’re looking for the best breakfast in town, Charlie’s Main Street Cafe is it. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with that classic small town warmth friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, and the smell of fresh coffee and sizzling bacon that immediately makes you feel at home. The food is consistently outstanding. The portions are generous without sacrificing quality, and everything tastes homemade. The pancakes are fluffy and perfectly golden, the eggs are always cooked exactly how you order them, and the hash browns have that ideal crispy on the outside, tender on the inside texture. Their breakfast skillets and omelets are packed with flavor and fresh ingredients, and the coffee never stops flowing. What really sets Charlie’s apart is the service. The staff is attentive, personable, and genuinely cares about your experience. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite before work or sitting down for a relaxed weekend breakfast, they make you feel like a regular. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out. Charlie’s Main Street Cafe isn’t just a breakfast spot, it’s a staple of the community and hands down the best way to start your day.

We had a wonderful experience at Charlie’s this morning! Tiffany took the time to chat with us and let us sample her mother’s amazing homemade soup!!!! Also, we had the biscuits and gravy, the gravy is made from SCRATCH by her father, what a great guy who knows how to make food from the heart that treats SO good! He also took the time to come out and chat with me!!! Charlie’s food is HOMEMADE, it does not come from a box or a can and that’s what makes the difference! Charlie’s is Minot’s hometown appeal!!! Thanks for GREAT experience this morning Tiffany and family!!!!

The interior displays North Dakotah history. Black and white photos of time gone by adorn the walls. Historic buildings that may or may not be standing now, former floods, group photos of original homesteaders, the introduction of the wireless, etc. The wood laminate floors reflect the foot traffic over the years. They add to the vintage charm.
The cafe tables are devoid of tech kiosks flooding the environs of upsell adds or games. There is actually room for your drinks and plates! I hope it stays this way.
According to USA Today (circa unknown) Charlie’s has the Best Hot Beef in North Dakota. Great! It is one of my staple menu items. Of course that’s what I ordered.
I have to say, if I could have my beef turn out 1/2 as tender, I’d make it at home more often. But such is not the case. The smooth gravy yelled “BEEF! It’s whats for breakfast, lunch AND dinner!!”, in my mouth. Soooo darn good!!
The next time you find yourself in Minot, ND, head over to the historic downtown. You’ll find Charlie’s. Ask about their pie. They might have some. You should ask if they have any lefse. They won’t but you can still ask.

If you’re looking for a down-to-earth atmosphere, with a friendly feel, this is definitely the place to go. Their knoephla soup is THEE best in Minot. Residents race to get their cup or bowl before Charlie’s runs out. Their food is amazing, staff incredible and the experience a must for Minotians and tourists alike!

Sausage gravy tasted weird to what im used to. Service was great and staff was great. Besides the gravy tasting off and the $4 OJ. With 2 meals my bill was over $50. So wasn’t a fan of that. Otherwise great atmosphere

My Family and I were driving into Minot recently to go out for a meal. Our teenage son asked where we were going my husband glanced back at him and said “We are going out to breakfast where do you think we are going” to which our so replied something along the lines of oh duh moms favorite breakfast place Charlie’s. We have always had amazing food. I typically only order the omelets because I’m obsessed with them. They are always so tasty and the cheese in and on them is amazing! My son and husband are more adventurous and have tried several different items and always been super pleased with their meal. The Carmel roll is another favorite of mine but the carrot cake is a close second.
