My meal was ordered to go and it was prepared quickly, boxed tastefully and carefully and came with a nice small bottle of tequila to wash it down, as it were.
While waiting in the shop, I couldn’t help but notice the decorative flair, festively music (a bit too loud?) and the kind staff.

The building looks so pretty from outside and even when you go inside the ambiance is very nice.It looks upscale and beautiful.
About the service the servers are prompt and keep checking.
About the food we ordered a few vegetarian dishes but not even for once can we say that we enjoyed it a lot.I would give a below average rating to the taste of food.The portion sizes are very huge to order limited dishes to begin with and order later.

We had a party of 15. We celebrated 2 birthdays. This restaurant has a GREAT PARTY ROOM to feel more intimate. The staff was efficient and accommodating. The food was good quality. They made the birthday celebration extra special with some special touches!!

The food, service, and atmosphere are all excellent.
The restaurant was absolutely packed. We were there with a large group, and so were others. It was after the huge Wheeling Walla Walla car show.
The wait staff were still very nice, professional, fast. Food came out fast and piping hot. They really have some of the best Mexican food.
The salsa with the cabbage is so yummy

We were transiting Walla Walla having lived in AZ/CA and traveled to Mexico many times…. we were looking for a nice Mex place. As you can tell from other reviews, it is a special place with good food. Ambience is good. Someone took the time to detail the place with proper Mexican tiles, pictures and so on. Food was outstanding. Service excellent and friendly staff. Bar area is separate from main dining. When you are in Walla Walla WA recommend you try them. My enchilada verdes were superb! For glueten free check out the corn tortillias.
Pricing is reasonable.

This restaurant gets high marks for atmosphere…it’s better than most places in town, but the food was average. Was hoping to have a relaxing dinner, but that is hard to do when the waiter does not get your order correct and the customer has to spend time correcting it. The chile relleno was hiding somewhere under a ton of oily cheese. Not the delicate egg batter characteristic of this dish. I’d rather have high quality food and an average atmosphere.

Neither the food, nor the service were satisfactory. I love Mexican cuisine, this one is at the bottom of my list. The Mexican Steak I ordered had few tiny pieces of flavorless low quality beef, the rice was clumpy and soggy. The waiters took long to take our orders, but it was served quickly. Salsa and corn nachos were very fresh and good.

One of my favorites that I get everywhere.
Maybe it was just this chef but meal lacked any real flavor unfortunately. Beans and rice also lacked a pinch of salt.
Overall the location and amount customers at my visit made it seem very popular. But not likely to repeat based on food.

I’ve been to El Sombrero a few times, and every time has been a five star experience. Food is yummy, customer service is even better! We had a large group come in and they gave us a private room, checked on us regularly, gave each kid a balloon, and were genuinely so kind and friendly. It can be stressful to eat out in a large group with kids, but they helped make it such a joyful and stress free experience.

Took an hour to even get our drink. Our first server just never came back. Our second server seemed annoyed when we wanted to order drinks just wanted to skip straight to food I guess. Then she got my order wrong. While she was bringing the food she could clearly see we were out of drinks and chips, I mention we needed new drinks and she looked pissed about it. Took another 15 minutes to get our drinks all the while I’m still searching for someone to remake my food. Finally after everyone else already ate their food my food came out looking and tasting like crap. I used to love this place. Never going again!
