Clam chowder – I would rate this a excellent! We’ve tasted clam chowder many places & this one is not too thick or soupy with plenty of delicious flavor!! YUM!!
Food – Spaghetti & meat balls. The pasta was fresh & perfectly prepared, the meatballs were tasty & good size, the sauce was hearty – tasted a bit like tomato paste, good though. Our guest approved!
Lasagna – a huge portion loaded with cheese of different types. Same sauce as the spaghetti. Our guest approved.
Chicken & with noodles -fresh, tasty pasta loaded with nicely seasoned chicken breast & white sauce. Our guest enjoyed the dish but mentioned it needed vegetables to give it more desirability.
Oso Bucco Gnocchi – I ordered & didn’t realize I was ordering Gnocchi 😐 I have had Gnocchi only once, years ago. I do not know what it’s to be, the Gnocchi was soft & laid in a Oso Bucco “gravy” with some pieces of shredded meat. It tasted just like Oso Bucco 🙂
Service – the service was friendly, not rushed, with good suggestions. One suggestion was the cheesy garlic bread 🙂
Ambiance – comfortable, Old world casual.
Noise level – was like a busy restaurant – fun, vibrant, happy! Yes, you can hear your friends conversation:) A nice compliment was the combo band which was soft background ambiance.
During the summer tourist season I’d recommend making a reservation!
After being sat, it took 10+ minutes for our server to check in.
We ordered a glass of wine and a coffee drink, along with our entree.
The table next to us (also a 2 top) received their food without utensils and without their drinks they ordered at the start of their dinner.
15 minutes later our food arrived with no utensils on the table to use for the pasta dish (scampi), though the server left right away without checking on our needs, and our drinks had not yet arrived.
We asked a separate waiter for utensils and they arrived shortly after.
5-7 minutes later our server checked in and we asked for our drinks.
The drinks still did not come until another check back on our table.
Finally the drinks arrived as I finished my food. The waiter apologized and said the bartender was really busy and behind. The issues were the same for us and our surrounding tables.
The scampi was pretty good, a bit spicy with Mexican flavor/flare to it that made it not taste Italian. I like Mexican food a lot but this was surprising in an OK, but not appreciated way.
Overall this belated Valentine’s Day date for my wife and I finally getting chance to go out without our three small children was a bust. I am very disappointed, for the owner of the restaurant, and, at myself for choosing this spot to take my beloved wife to on our one special night out in the last 5 months. At least I had a beautiful woman whom I adore to sit through the toe-tapping amateur-hour (and a half) dinner experience with.
