I got the daily special sausage plate with potato salad and green beans. The sausage tasted store bought, like the HEB sausage I have at home. The potato salad was great and the best thing we had at our table. The green beans were also solid.
My wife had the chopped beef sandwich. Just call it a bad manwich and a day. It was bland and mushy.
Our son had a rib plate with Mac and cheese. The ribs were bland and dry, no seasoning at all.
Overall, good service but the food is just down right terrible.
If you are looking for a taste of true local tradition, look no further than Granzin’s BBQ. This isn’t just a restaurant; for many of us, it’s a cornerstone of our childhood and a flavor that defines “home.”
From Sunrise to Sunset the food is Excellent!!
They serve the best breakfast tacos in town. Whether you’re fueling up for work or a slow weekend, their morning offerings are legendary.
As the day turns to lunch and dinner, the classics never miss. There is a beautiful symmetry in watching the next generation fall in love with the same flavors we did.
The chopped beef sandwich remains a heavyweight champion for our family. It was my childhood staple 25 years ago, and it’s just as perfect today—so much so that it’s now the go-to order for my kids.
Yes, the food is world-class, but the service and atmosphere are what make you feel like family. The staff treats you with genuine hospitality, and the environment strikes that perfect balance of being laid-back yet impeccably run.
Granzin’s manages to do the impossible by staying consistent for decades while still feeling fresh. The food is even better than the excellent service, which is saying a lot.
Support local and grab a tray—you won’t regret it!
We were entertained by the many details that the design of the dining room because it gives you the atmosphere of a Texan place.
In reference to the food, my personal experience, left me a not so great conclusion. I order a pulled pork sandwich that was on a bun that I requested toasted, and it wasn’t. The pulled pork meat itself was kind of , not cold, but not hot enough to to be enjoyed. . I had to ask them to reheat heat it somehow so that I could enjoy my sandwich. My husband order the baby back ribs. Not Surprisingly, the ribs were also cold.
I recommend that they re-evaluate the recipe also since it was extremely salty, and the pulled pork had already a flavor in it and similar to barbecue. Unfortunately, we were not pleased with our dinner experience here. However, I encourage you to give you a try and probably Have a different perspective in your visit.
Solid 4 out of 5. I enjoy eating here (most important and keep coming back) and having a saddle for the littles makes it much easier to keep them occupied than regular high chairs.
We enjoy sitting in the back room where it’s quieter and you can enjoy smelling the bbq/smoke in the back. (Not for everyone)
We had not been to Texas in a decade and were excited to introduce our teen to brisket. The tea was stale, almost rancid. The soda fountain was flat. The brisket was not flavorful, but passable. My daughter’s sandwich was not how she ordered it and cold. Fries were cold. This was nowhere near the quality we remembered from other restaurants years ago.
I do not recommend. If a parking lot and dining area is near empty at 7pm on a Friday, there’s a reason.
