Three of us ate here on a Saturday night in early November. That night is the test for any restaurant, and this one passed with flying colors.

We sat outside on the porch area (as opposed to the ground level outside seating), which was more private. The restaurant has a charming atmosphere, but if you sit outside be prepared for the noise from Duval Street. It would not really have been an issue except right across the street is the Hard Rock Cafe, which blasted music so loud that sometimes it was hard to have a conversation. We were told that happens only on Saturday nights, but if you are considering going to this restaurant and sitting outside, you might want to check with the Hard Rock Cafe to see if they are having live music that night.

There are lots of good choices on the menu and wine list. Our server Paola was outstanding. Very accommodating of making menu changes, and got everything right without having to write a single thing down. Plus she was very attentive all through dinner.

The fried calamari appetizer was great. Our dinner entrees were scallops, snapper and tuna. Everything was prepared just the way we asked and was very delicious. For dessert I had a custom ordered scoop of vanilla ice cream with a shot of kahlua.

Except for the loud music from the Hard Rock Cafe, we had a great time and would definitely return the next time we vacation in the area. Terrific menu, great food, superb service, and a pleasant place to eat dinner outside.

We had dinner on Sunday evening and got to say the food and service were fantastic. The food is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. You can always eat at Wendy’s if you prefer. Service was very good with a good break between appetiser and mains. Wine by the glass with plenty of choice. Give it a try, you wont be disappointed. Our waitress Tereza was very good.

We had an amazing New Year’s Eve evening at the Grand Café. Our waitress, Zulia (I hope I’m remembering her name correctly), was wonderful—friendly, attentive, and very accommodating throughout the evening. We enjoyed some excellent wine, and the food was very good as well.

With Hard Rock Cafe directly across the road, the atmosphere was fantastic. There was a live band playing from 8:00 until 11:00, which added great energy and entertainment to the night.

Our table was perfect—right by the street and ideal for people-watching. Although the weather was a bit chilly, the patio heaters provided great warmth and made the experience very comfortable.

We absolutely love Grand Café. We’ve spent another New Year’s Eve here before, and every time we visit Key West, we make a point of coming at least once. It’s such an iconic place in Key West and always delivers a memorable experience.

I cannot think of a single negative to our visit to the Grand Cafe. The food was great and the atmosphere was bustling but relaxed. We started with cocktails, a Key West old fashioned and a lemon drop martini to go with our appetizer, the conch fritters. For our entree, my wife had the seared scallops and I had the Chef’s tasting plate. Everything was done to perfection. Our waitress, Dana, was attentive to our needs but not overbearing. It was a great experience and I highly recommend this restaurant if you get to Key West. With so much to do here in Key West, this was definitely a great experience

I never leave reviews but this place deserves one. Don’t bother. Faux upscale dining. Looks nice but isn’t. Terrible lemon drop martini. Bug and fuzz in other drink. Ordered steak medium rare, served nearly well done. Chef’s sampler full of mediocre sauce. Steak was tender, hence the two stars. But would never go back

On the outside, the restaurant is cute. The menu looks wonderful. We split a meal and it was our most expensive dinner the entire trip. The surf and turf (steak and lobster) were dry and had no flavor. The Cesar salad was decent. Definitely wish we would have found another restaurant that was way better for our last night.

We love this place. Discovered it last year on our first trip to Key West and decided to come again. We’re not disappointed. Food was excellent. Whole baked branzino and fried yellowtail snapper were delicious. We will certainly go back!

Quite simply, this place was great across the board. The drinks were excellent (nobody makes a better dirty martini). The food was very tasty and well presented (the roasted duck is fantastic). Service was very good. Our waiter was engaging and very helpful. The prices are on the high side, but this place is definitely a notch or two above the typical Key West eatery. We made a reservation as it was Christmas day, but it seems that it would be a good idea anytime. We will definitely visit this restaurant again.

Restaurant Review: Grand Café, Key West – Exceptional Service & Unforgettable Dishes

My visit to the Grand Café in Key West was outstanding from start to finish, thanks to both the incredible food and the exceptional service—especially from our waitress, Zulia. She was the highlight of the evening: warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making sure we had a memorable experience. Her recommendations were spot-on, and she managed to be both professional and personable without ever feeling intrusive. She truly elevated the entire meal.

The food itself was just as impressive. The tuna tartare was fresh, vibrant, and beautifully balanced—each bite packed with clean flavor and just the right amount of acidity and texture. It set the tone perfectly for what was to come.

Then came the lobster, and it was nothing short of phenomenal. Tender, rich, and perfectly prepared, it was the kind of dish that reminds you why dining out can feel like a special occasion. The presentation was elegant without being fussy, and every element on the plate complemented the lobster flawlessly.

Between the wonderful ambiance, the delicious food, and Zulia’s exceptional service, the Grand Café has easily become one of my favorite spots in Key West. If you’re looking for a place that combines quality, comfort, and hospitality, this restaurant delivers on all fronts. And if you’re lucky enough to have Zulia as your server, you’re in for an even better night.

The Grand Cafe is a beautiful building with patio dining and an elegant inside dining room. The food was delicious! We’ve eaten here before and enjoyed ourselves. We chose it last night because we had tickets for the Red Barn Theater across the street. We sat inside this time. It was quiet and intimate. No one disturbed us, not even our waitress, Paola (unsure of spelling), who took forever to bring a menu, never introduced herself or welcomed us, eventually brought our wine and took our order, forgot our 2nd glass until we were done with our meal. I let her know she forgot our wine, she was “oh, I’ll get it now…” Excuse me, no. Bring the check. BTW, that 15% tip was statement not a mistake!
