We also have world-class dining, and Mambo — a local favorite and institution — is a must-visit for guests with its array of hand-crafted dishes that utilize locally sourced, seasonally relevant ingredients. Come in for dinner seven nights a week.

Female cook started by reaching under her apron to pull up her pants then pull down her shirt and did not change gloves. Worse was when she used the towel she wiped her hands and the counter to check the doneness of chicken by pulling the chicken from the oven, placing the chicken into the dirty towel to crack it slightly to check if it was thoroughly cooked then returned it to the pan and back into the oven . She also frequently picked up a personal cup to take a drink without changing her gloves either. I wanted to leave but husband felt the food we ordered would not go past her station and he was correct so we stayed.
He loved his seafood dish.
Upon arrival we were seated in a corner, which is fine, except that my chair was At least a quarter inch wobbly, And we were next to a heavy curtain dash behind it was a door. It was extremely cold! I fixed the chair myself with a napkin and some shims that the server brought.
My cocktail was very bourbon cocktail was good, but nothing terribly interesting. Could’ve used some touches around the top maybe orange peel or sugar on the rim I’m not sure…
The artichoke appetizer was eclectic – we got the full stem and the artichoke – very hard to eat? And split. Sauce or Ragu was very good around it.
Bolognese noodles were fabulous might be the best I’ve ever had; sauce was too tangy for me? Husband very much enjoyed his extra Italian sausage on his Bolognese.
Others very much enjoyed their dishes
We placed our orders and were lucky enough that the cheese pizza that my son ordered got entered as a happy hour item. Win number 2.
My kids enjoyed watching all of the good getting cooked, especially the pizza getting tossed around.
The food came pretty quick and everything was delicious. My wife had the chicken parmesan and it was quite tasty. I especially liked the fact that the breading on the chicken was not greasy!
I had the campanelle and sausage and it was very flavorful. It has a good amount sausage and there is just the right amount of heat to it. The tapenade was tasty and very flavorful (but I really like olives).
One child has the spaghetti and a meatball. The thing was huge. He commented on how good it tasted and we had to bring some home for lunch the next day.
Lastly, the cheese pizza was good also. My young son almost ate an entire 12 inch pizza by himself. He said the crust was delicious and it had a generous portion of cheese.
Food wise, this place checks all the boxes. Everything was great. Our only complaint was the server wasn’t the best. I had to remind her about a drink my son ordered (after the food came), had to get her attention for to go boxes and the check, and after she took my credit card, she was gone a long while and then when I finally got her attention, she forgot that she hadn’t swiped my card.
I don’t think that is the standard level of service and honestly, it wasn’t horrible.
Pro Tip: Get reservations early!! We didn’t look for reservations until we got to Steamboat, and there were none available the whole week. Luckily, we stopped by at 5:30 and got a seat at the Chefs’ Counter. It was awesome! Dinner and a show!
We have been coming here for forever. This time, it was two adults and two kids (8 and 10). It was great! We loved the food! The service was the worst part, but that was largely due to where we were sitting.
