I was just at Bazbeaux for a date night with my partner and the pizza was incredible. The spinach salad with the vinaigrette was very refreshing. We ordered the spinach salad, house salad, garlic bread, and a half and half. The Roma and Quattro Formagio were amazingly cheesy with an ample amount of toppings to compliment the thin crust. Only complaint of thd night is the cheesy bread was not as good as the reviews state but we still enjoyed!

I’ve went to Bazbeaux off in on for a portion of my life. But I’ve never appreciated it when it was in front of me. I stopped in to kill time. I was blown away. Their garlic break with cheese was both tasty and complex. And their Spicy Bee pizza was so good. Pizza with hot honey can really be off with the spice or the honey. Here, the spice and sweetness were both apparent, not hiding behind the other. Big props to my server too. He was the only waiter for 6 tables. When it was time for my check, he already had it printed in his apron. Some of the best service I’ve had in some times.

We recently visited Bazbeaux Pizza in Broad Ripple with a large group, and from start to finish, the evening was seamless. We were seated quickly despite our party size, and Alex greeted us warmly, providing attentive and outstanding service throughout the meal. Her timing was perfect—our appetizers arrived quickly, and the pizzas followed just as we finished snacking.

For starters, we ordered Garlic Bread with cheese, one without cheese, and a large House Salad. The bread was golden and flavorful, and the salad was fresh and generously portioned. We couldn’t resist adding a few sides of cheese to pair with the Cheesy Garlic Bread, which made for a fun appetizer spread while waiting for the main event.

When the pizzas arrived, they were nothing short of excellent. We enjoyed a classic Cheese Pizza, a Pepperoni Pizza, and the Spicy Bee Pizza (a newer specialty featuring pepperoni, Italian sausage, jalapeño, and hot honey). Each pie was perfectly baked, with Bazbeaux’s signature blend of provolone and mozzarella cheeses and their homemade tomato sauce. Everyone in our group found a favorite, and not a single slice went to waste.

Beyond the food, what makes Bazbeaux special is its story. The original Broad Ripple location opened in 1986 in a quirky old house that once belonged to the town’s gravedigger. It quickly became famous for its fresh-made pizzas served on rickety decks by the canal. By 2003, the restaurant moved just steps away to its current location, offering more seating and a larger kitchen while keeping the same whimsical spirit. Bazbeaux’s name itself comes from a French jester who fled to Florence, Italy, and became known for his creativity in food—a fitting inspiration for a restaurant that has won “Best Pizza in Indianapolis” year after year.

The menu reflects that creativity, with options ranging from traditional favorites to inventive specialty pies like the Mediterranean (chorizo, feta, spinach, roasted red peppers), the Quattro Formaggio (five cheeses with bacon and mushrooms), and the Garden (artichoke hearts, avocado, spinach, and ricotta). They even offer vegan-friendly pizzas with plant-based cheese and toppings.

Our total cost came to just over $10 per person, which felt like a bargain for the quality and quantity of food. Between the warm service, flavorful dishes, and the restaurant’s rich history, Bazbeaux Pizza in Broad Ripple is a true Indianapolis gem. We’ll definitely be back—whether for another family gathering or a cozy date night.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommended for anyone craving pizza with personality, history, and heart.

Excellent pizza with fantastic flavor! The crust is perfectly baked, the toppings are fresh, and the cheese is deliciously melted. Service is fast and friendly, and the overall experience is always great. Perfect for family meals or casual gatherings. I will definitely order again!

One of my favorite pizza places, but lately it’s been hit or miss. I was here twice in the past week or so. The first pizza was delicious!! Perfectly cooked. The next time it was underdone. Disappointed it didn’t live up to what I’m used to. I will be back though!

We visited in the late afternoon and chose to sit on the patio. The food arrived quickly and everything was good. I got a 10 inch Bazbeaux special, and I wasn’t able to find any sundried tomatoes on it as the description said, so I assumed they were small and hidden under the cheese. The garlic was in small dollops around and was a bit bitter. We also got a 12 inch Hawaiian and the ham was thinly sliced and tender. Overall, the service and pizza were good.

This restaurant is consistantly FABULOUS!!! Also, the leftovers warmed in the oven the next day taste just the same. We love the Colossus pizza. The staff is always friendly, regardless of who takes care of you.

It is good pizza. I think you should ask for extra sauce on your pizza because they don’t put very much on. And I don’t want a bunch of sauce. The salads are good but they do the whole “put the ingredients in their assigned place on the salad” which means you have to mix it up unless you like eating your lettuce with all antichokes and then all olives and then all crab meat and the all avocado, etc… All restaurants seem to do this nowadays. We got seated quickly, the drinks were served quickly, and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time.

I couldn’t read the other categories to add stars. Black text on dark mode isn’t readable to these old eyes. Food was really good. Service was really good. Ambiance is a little lacking, but ok. Outdoor seating is available but it wasn’t available because it was a bit too chilly.
