Ps that roasted corn can I have a weekly subscription or the recipe please?
Steak could only be done pink or well done for the Sunday roast.
Highly recommend
Dispute being crowded, there was no wait to sit, and the waitress was friendly and provided great recommendations.
To start, I got the gin fizz, which had a great citrus flavor.
For my meal, I had the three course prefixe. My starter was the chicken thigh which was juicy and well seasoned. The labneh was the perfect touch, but the crispy chickpeas were not my favorite, so I just picked around them.
The roast was delicious. Very moist with large helping of mashed potatoes, roast potatoes and carrots, cabbage and peas. The gravy has a rich beef flavor and I loved the soft and fluffy Yorkshire pudding.
I was very full at this point but had to taste my desert. I chose the Margarita Cranachan. This was my first time ever hearing of this dish but it did not disappoints. It was a rich cream with berries, oats and a faint tequila flavor. I couldn’t eat it all because of the huge portion, but I’m glad I gave it a try.
If you’re in the area and have time for a nice bite to eat, I recommend giving it a try.
We were sat at a door that staff were rushing in and out of which let a cold wind through (it would’ve been excused if the rest of our night went well which it did not). We had ordered a cocktail and asked if it was possible to be topped up with soda water as it was a short drink and the waitress assured us it would be fine. The waitress eventually brought over our drinks after a good wait, but brought a short cocktail and a glass of soda water laughing about how the barman made it incorrectly. I had to ask for her to return it and possible make it the way I had asked as she was going to leave it on the table and then asked me if I would just “pour it in” at the table. The bar man was in clear view of the restaurant and had a good rant about the cocktail in front of everyone making us very uncomfortable.
The food was extremely average, no one checked on our meal or offered us another round of drinks (probably to avoid another rant from the bar staff).
At the end of the meal it took a while to get the bill but it was topped off by a waiter asking us if we had paid when we got up to leave in front of the restaurant- he didn’t serve us and we had to assure him we had paid!
The restaurant wasn’t packed when we were there so really can’t excuse the service, the toilets needed a good tidy and there were filled bin bags left in front of the lift.
Really gutted about this experience and a waste of £100!
