I stumbled into this place, just driving around Geneva during a conference. I have to say, it’s one of the most darling spots I’ve ever randomly come upon while going for a leisurely drive. From the beautiful scenery, with it being situated in a very intimate marina to the tasteful interior of the restaurant, I just couldn’t resist entering the dining room and asking for a table.

I had the celery root “risotto” with morel mushrooms for appetizers. The dish was creamy and cheezy like mac-&-cheese, but more refined. The morels must have been dried then reconstituted and had a nice flavor to them.

My main entrée was the square sturgeon quenelle. The egg and creamed sturgeon together created a divine flavor and texture along with the lobster sauce and black rice. It was a little too salty for me, but it didn’t stop me from eating it all.

And finally, the dessert! I had the house specialty eclair. The pastry was light and crispy. The vanilla cream and the vanilla ice cream were so light and delicate but so delicious!

One thing to add. They actually have plenty of parking spaces. Which is a refreshing change to the normal Geneva parking situation (parking availability generally sucks A LOT in Geneva).

I don’t write about most places, but this place inspired me and I’m very glad I stopped to eat dinner here!

And I hope you enjoy your dinner there too!

Amazing location, great service and good food. Do not order the Ravioli because it has nothing to do with traditional Ravioli. Seems like everyone goes to this restaurant to order the same, Fillet de Perch. Currently, the fish is imported because of some disease found in the lake. This is a place to have a Meal with one of the best views of Lake Geneva and the highest mountain in Europe, the mighty Mont Blanc.

A wonderful place by the lake!
The restaurant is located right on the lakeshore — the view is simply breathtaking, especially at sunset. The service is **non-stop, without breaks**, always friendly and attentive.
The food is exceptional — **fresh seafood**, beautifully prepared dishes, and a great selection of wines. The atmosphere is calm and cozy, perfect for a romantic dinner or a relaxing meal with friends.
Definitely one of the best places you’ll want to come back to! Here’s the English version of your review:

We celebrated a birthday at this restaurant with a large party. Despite have reserved in advance for seating on the terrace, our reservation was lost. However we were accommodated at a nice large table inside with a great view on the lake!
The service at this restaurant is very top, the servers are well trained professionals.

As to the food this was also very good and very well presented. From the soup to the main dish which was courgette based. While the portions of the main dish were quite small and not enough for a meal, the chef arranged that extra plates were provided to satisfy our needs. Excellent approach and service. We recommend this restaurant and their excellent service.

Amazing! The people are wonderful and the quality of the food is just top notch. Nothing beats le creux de Genthod in my opinion. Everytime I come to Geneva, the FIRST place I think of is this restaurant for their exquisite dining experience and « filet de perche » . Dreaming about them! Couldn’t recommend more.

Very nice place with fast and professional service.
The place we go for perch fillets. Very good desserts as well.
They are set up for all type of weather providing pillows and blankets for eating on the terrace in colder weather.

Very cosy atmosphere in a winter evening, with a heartwarming woodfire.

The foie gras was delicious, the perch filet prepared lightly and tastily, and the desserts (both meringue and incredible mouse au chocolat) heavenly.

Last but not least, the service is very attentive.

We recently had lunch here with a group of 14 people, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. The staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming, making sure every detail was taken care of. Ahead of our visit, the restaurant was very accommodating in discussing menu options with us, and they offered a great range of choices that suited everyone in the group.
On the day, our table was exactly as agreed and perfectly set up for a large party. The service throughout lunch was smooth, professional, and friendly—our group felt well taken care of without ever being rushed. The food was excellent, featuring a seasonal menu with fresh, flavorful dishes and a wonderful selection of desserts that rounded out the meal beautifully.
This is a restaurant that clearly knows how to manage large groups without compromising on quality or service. Highly recommended for both small and large gatherings!

This is an excellent restaurant in a superb location but you certainly pay for it! The end bill was higher than any other meal I have ever eaten in any part of the world. It was very good but sadly not good enough for the charge, one of those that is really not being reasonable but they get away with it because its on a lovely location. I would say most of the other diners were a bit well off and for them the cost was okay, but for us a very considered charge. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome but I wont be returning and unless you are happy to spend ALOT of money on a meal I wouldn’t recommend you eat here. Its good but I’ve eaten better for way less

My relationship with the Creux de Genthod restaurant spans over three decades, and each visit feels like a reunion with an old friend. I first discovered it as a teenager, when my father brought me here for dinner. That evening, I tasted their signature dish — filets de perches du lac Léman, served with a crisp green salad and perfectly golden French fries — and it left an impression that has endured for more than 35 years. Remarkably, the genuine and unique flavor of this specialty has never changed.

Since then, Creux de Genthod has become part of my own family’s story. I brought my wife here shortly after we got married, and later our children, who quickly became fans themselves. From time to time, they’ll ask if we can go back — a request I’m always happy to honor.

The setting is as charming as the food. Nestled on the shore of Lake Geneva, the restaurant offers two distinct experiences: in winter, a cozy and warm interior; in summer, a delightful terrace shaded by large umbrellas, where the lake breeze enhances every bite.

In recent years, their dessert selection has become another highlight, offering sweet endings that match the excellence of the main courses.

Creux de Genthod is more than just a place to eat — it’s a place where flavors, memories, and moments intertwine. A must-visit for anyone seeking authentic taste and a warm, picturesque setting.
