Located in the historic Werthan factory, Rolf and Daughters offers a casual, vibrant atmosphere that pairs well with its sharable plates, evolving natural wine list, and house cocktails. Since opening in late 2012, Philip Krajeck’s Germantown restaurant has been named one of America’s Best New Restaurants by Bon Appétit and Esquire magazines. Fun, seasonal, and inventive, the menu highlights produce from local farms and handmade pastas. Reservations are accepted for the dining room, communal tables, and bar. We also keep a portion of the restaurant open for walk-ins, both at the bar and communal tables!

Our drinks included multiple glasses, so we stood with them sitting on the bar until our table was ready. The bartender passive-aggressively suggested that we should move so that other guests could approach the bar, even though there was no one else waiting and nowhere for us to put our drinks. His tone suggested we were being inconsiderate to the other guests by standing where we were told by the hostess to wait for our table – the whole exchange felt less than hospitable and was an off-putting start to our evening.
Once seated, our server was much more friendly and accommodating. She went over the menu with us and made excellent suggestions. Highlights included a dish with green tomato, fig, squash, and yuzu which was so light and refreshing. We also really enjoyed the infamous Sweet Corn Agnolotti, the Rigatoni, and the Bluefin Tuna.
The food was delicious, and a big highlight on our trip to Nashville. We will definitely be back whenever we’re in town to try whatever new seasonal wonders grace the menu.
As a from-scratch mama at home, I appreciated the many intricate homemade pasta options. I am biased to my sour dough, but theirs was pretty tasty! The crab pasta dish I ordered was delicious. The grain berry dish that came with my husband’s meal was out of this world.
Our waitress (I believe her name was Abby) never missed a beat—always refilling our waters, explained the entire cocktail and dinner menu, and was so personable and sweet.
The tables are very close together, but they do have the music at a comfortable level where you don’t feel like everyone can hear your conversation. Lighting and decor is beautiful.
I adored the local artwork post card touch with the bill; can’t wait to send it to my grandmother 🙂
The food was delicious, although I did find the four main courses to be a bit on the salty side. That said, the dishes were still enjoyable, and the flavors were well-crafted. The drinks were excellent, perfectly complementing the meal, and the service was top-notch. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing the dining experience.
We tried quite a few dishes, and as you can see from my photos, they were beautifully presented and full of flavor. Despite my minor critique about the salt level, I look forward to returning to Rolf and Daughters. It’s a place that offers a great blend of ambiance, food, and service, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Nashville.
1000/10! Menu rotates for new creations and we will certainly be back! Loved it all!
