Overall quite a good experience at Kumako Den. We had a very short wait when we got there, and the staff were very friendly. The ramen was definitely quite good; the noodles were amazing, as was the char siu. The broth was overall decent but not as amazing as the rest!
My only gripe was that it was quite pricey; for a ramen and beer each for two people, ended up being over $60, which felt a bit steep.

Very cheap for ramen now a days, about $16/17 for a massive bowl. I ate half and was already full.
There was a bit of a wait at 1.30 on a Saturday because the resturant is a bit smaller. When we left at 2, there was an even bigger wait!
The noodles were springy and the meat was sweet and fresh, but some of the soups were off.
The tonkatsu broth had a lot of white pepper and wasn’t really rich as expected. The low sodium broth wasn’t memorable, and the mapo tofu soup was good, but as a Chinese person I expected it to be more floral or complex. It was interesting and worth trying for me, though.
When fresh, the karaage was very juicy but not the crunchiest. When it cooled it still got kind of powdery in the mouth as karaage often gets.
Had more vegetarian options than most ramen places.

Nick was highly energetic and was a great service, infact he was cheerful and good vibes.
The atmosphere gives the sense that it’s very popular and busy during lunch time. Such as the nature of any ramen restaurants.
In terms of the Ramen, it was very good! The broth is superly full of umami and the ramen noodles was immaculate, the bowl was well set together to make for a perfect Ramen bowl. Even though the meat was tender I didn’t enjoy the meat as much as I hoped in taste.
Overall it was a great experience, and I am happy to go back and try more dishes!

Great food, great service, and cozy atmosphere. Loved their Katsu curry ramen. They nailed the thin crispy crust and used tender lean meat fried to perfection. The noodle was cooked perfectly chewy as well.

The atmosphere sets you at ease, the people here make you feel so at home like coming home for the holidays, the food is so delicious, I got the miso ramen, my partner got the tonkotsu ramen. Both were some of the best ramen we’ve ever had. The entire experience was so amazing, I would recommend it over and over again. Thank you for caring for us Kumako ramen!

Chicken karage had great crust and the ramen was delicious. The broth was flavorful and rich. Our server was super cool, friendly helped us pick out our ramen based off our questions. He even brought out a favorite chili sauce for the finishing touch.

This place is LEGIT !!!! Simple menu and soooo flavorful love it !!!! Service fast my son said food came with a good temp ready to eat. So delicious my kids finished the whole bowl with nothing left in it. I loved it myself. Too bad we live in SF but would definitely drive back just for this ramen. So hungry I forgot to take a photo of it lol. Definitely recommend 5 stars for everything ! .
