The servers were all very friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and cozy. When you walk in, you’ll notice there are plenty of seats and a surprisingly spacious interior.

The food was pretty good. I highly recommend the bone-in ribeye — we ordered it medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly with great seasoning. My friend had the New York strip, and that was delicious as well.

The shrimp was very fresh, though a bit too salty for our taste. The lobster tail was small, but nicely seasoned, tender, and juicy.

Someone at the next table was celebrating a birthday, and the staff brought out a cake with candles. When we were leaving, I noticed the plate said “Happy Birthday,” which was a really sweet touch.

I had an amazing experience here for my birthday dinner. I originally reserved a table for 6 but I had two more guest wanting to join so I called ahead and notified them and they were very nice enough to help me get a table for 8. When I got there I was greeted and sat immediately with my party. The servers were quick and efficient. When we ordered our food it came out all the same time and it was absolutely delicious! I’m so glad I got to spend my birthday here! I’ll definitely recommend this place!

I took my husband to his birthday after hearing so many great things and reading positive reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was far from what we expected.

To start, our waiter was wonderful—attentive, friendly, and patient. However, the food itself was just okay. I ordered the salmon, and the plating was very sloppy. It looked like it had been rushed and thrown on the plate without care, but honestly that wasn’t even the main issue of the night.

While my husband was enjoying his drink, the entire bottom of his glass suddenly broke off, spilling everywhere. It was extremely strange, and both our waiter and another customer witnessed it. Instead of handling the situation with concern or professionalism, the manager came over very aggressive and accusatory. She immediately questioned my husband, asking if he had hit the glass with the skillet, and even said she would be checking the cameras—as if the glass breaking clean off was somehow our fault.

When she returned from reviewing the footage, her attitude completely changed. She became apologetic once she realized the damage was not caused by us. But by then, the entire night was already ruined. I was upset and embarrassed that we even had to defend ourselves for something that was clearly out of our control.

As a Hispanic woman, I could not help but feel singled out and unfairly treated by this manager. Instead of addressing a safety issue, she treated us like we were doing something wrong. And the saddest part? I still paid the entire bill. For the emotional distress, the ruined birthday, and the disrespect we endured, our meal should have been fully comped.

This experience made it clear to me that not all customers are treated equally here. I will never return to this restaurant, and I hope management seriously reevaluates how they handle situations—and how they treat their guests.

It’s Sunday and every once in a while… more often than not, we brunch! Lol. We heard about the bottomless mimosa brunch here at Cast Iron Chef Chop House & Oyster Bar so we pulled up to check it out! Here’s how it went…

Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right on the busy State Street is this gem. There’s no private parking, but plenty of comfortable, spacious street parking right out front. Once inside you’re immersed in a very fine-dining, elegant, laid-back atmosphere. Lots of woods, intimate-low lighting and upbeat music. I loved the vibes in here. The first room is your bar room where the rail is off to the left, but with plenty of seating to the right. If you continue through the room you enter the main dining room where it’s all booths and other tables.

Service: Stacey was our server. Things got off to a bit of a rocky start, but they smoothed out throughout the brunch.

Food/Drinks: The mimosa was okay… It was REALLY strong because there’s orange vodka and orange liqueur in it. It kinda killed the flavor for me because I’d prefer a traditional mimosa with minimal juice, but… no matter. They’re bottomless… or supposed to be… Just be mindful of who your server is. Brunch can consist of a prix-fixed menu, which is what we did so we’ll be going through that. First up were the Homemade Sausage Gravy and biscuits. These were super smothered and fantastic. Hot, savory, meaty, salty and even had a bit of a subtle sweetness. The biscuit was soft, butter and had crispy edges. Next up were the Cinnamon Rolls. These were HUGE. Lol. Like, how are we supposed to eat AND drink all of this stuff?! The exterior of the roll was crispy and the inside very soft. Not over-the-top sweetness or anything. These were very balanced. Next up were the Bananas Foster Pancakes. But this thing was enormous. It was so thick, like literally an inch thick. Lol. Fresh bananas sliced right on top, it cut like butter, was soft with the perfect crispy edges and these were AMAZING. Punch of sweetness up front, fluffy texture and just a great pancake. For dinner, this restaurant usually serves Cast Iron Popcorn instead of bread, so Stacey let us try it! It was smokey, a little-little sweet with a little bit of salt and maybe a hickory barbecue flavor. I liked it. Lastly, I chose the Steak & Eggs over Salmon & Eggs, but got to try both since my wife was with me. Each comes with gigantic fried potatoes, 3 eggs, a piece of toast, caramelized onions and your protein of choice. My steak was cooked perfectly (medium-rare). The flavors were excellent. It was a little fatty and just was done very well.

Value: $64.96 for bottomless mimosas and the prix-fixe menu. Probably the best value brunch in the state. SO MUCH FOOD and strong drinks. I don’t know what else you’d want!

In conclusion, I really enjoyed myself here and have revisited since my first time! Everything was just as awesome as the first. Check this place out if you’re in the area!

Drove down to New Haven after a friend dined here for the first time and recommended it for dinner. We had a great time, seated all the way at the back in the Red Room, which was quiet and cozy (the front dining rooms were much louder and when we were seated away from them, we were relieved). Brett was our server and he was attentive and warm.

The menu is expansive enough that you can visit several times and try something different each time. We had the lamb lollipops, the mussels (which my husband said was an incredible amount for the price and the sauce was to die for), the short rib, the NY strip, the mushrooms, and the bread pudding with ice cream and caramel sauce. If you’re full just reading it, we were happily full eating it all. . The cocktails were also quite good (I’m a bourbon and gin girl and they delivered!)

Will certainly be back!

I’ve been meaning to try this spot for a while, and it didn’t disappoint. Every employee I spoke to was very friendly and hospitable. Their wine and spirit menu is very extensive, so you shouldn’t have trouble finding something you like. They have a balanced menu of soups and salads, appetizers, entrees, and dessert. I got the tuna sashimi as an appetizer and their grass fed New York Strip as my entree. Both were delicious, and the steak came out in a sizzling cast iron skillet with a good amount of garlic and butter. Great spot for a date or group dinner. Plenty of seating throughout. Prices are what you would expect.

We hired Cast Iron Chef Chop House & Oyster Bar for a private event and were thoroughly impressed from start to finish. The team was prompt, courteous, and an absolute pleasure to work with. Their attention to detail was evident in every aspect from the over-the-top display that wowed our guests to the exceptional quality of the food, which was both beautifully presented and delicious. Cast Iron exceeded our expectations and helped make our event truly memorable. Highly recommended!

Very awesome atmosphere, service was nice. The beef we ordered was nice, but too salty. And the salmon was very sweet, I don’t think it should be such sweet.

Stopped in for lunch while working in the area.
Food was excellent. Sat at the bar and ate while enjoying a few cocktails. Friendly service. I’m sure the dinner entrees are great as well. Give it a try.

Came here for my husband’s birthday. Thought we were going to a more upscale steak house. Waiter was a little short and standoffish but its fine because it was getting busier. Then a group of 8 LOUD preteen boys came in and sat directly behind us. There was one single parent that sat multiple tables away and didn’t manage the situation at all. These kids were loud, disruptive and talking about really inappropriate things. I came here for a nice experience, I don’t want to here a bunch of little boys talk about a zombie chopping off arms and eating brains while I’m trying to enjoy my meal. If youre going to book a large party, book a private room. It wasn’t even worth saying anything to the owner/manager because they seemed like they knew each other or were friends. We brought our own 10 year old and she was quiet, calm and respectful of others around her. This dad did nothing even though other patrons were obviously upset as well. If I didnt care about the atmosphere, I would have gone to Applebee’s.

Food was okay. Steak was a tiny bit overdone but not bad. Broccoli was undergone and too crunchy.

For the prices and experience, it was definitely disappointing.
