Amazing food and service. Although not too clean due to a few ripped seats, it’s okay for not changing a thing for 20+ years! My parents and siblings really enjoyed our stay! My stepmom hasn’t been here for 20+ years and she remembers everything as it was when she was a child. WOULD 100% TAKE MY CHILDREN HERE WHEN I’M OLDER!!!

So we have been touring New Orleans since 11:00 AM and we got back towards town and wound up going around in circles for probably another two hours and we were trying to find a restaurant because we had already been burned out on a couple restaurants in town that were awful And we found Shoney’s we used to have one in Indianapolis Indiana and it closed many years ago. The food was great. The flavor was great. The people were awesome. The waitress checked on us every so often to make sure we were alright, it was the perfect experience and honestly the best experience that we have had in New Orleans.

It’s a shame that most cities, including ours here in Laplace closed. Most of us here miss it so much. The closest Shoney’s to us now is Gretna and Morgan City. And they are both just as I remember Laplace used to be!

I have a love / hate relationship with this place. The food is generally excellent. Pretty basic but excellent.
Wait time can be incredibly long (I’ve experienced close to an hour), but usually not. But when they get a rush, and a lot of people are waiting , things are handled extremely poorly. It’s almost as if there was no management here. The staff’s attitude can be toxic and clearly evident.
My last couple of visits have been good, and without issue, but due to previous experience, I remain skeptical.

Always liked Shoneys but most locations closed down. The breakfast bar is still good as usual. Also had to get the hot fudge cake, a favorite of mine. I recommend the for a quick non fancy, no fuss, place to grub and run.
