Small town, diner and sports bar near the intersection of 33 & 29. The Blue Ridge Cafe serves good tasting, homestyle comfort food. We were promptly seated and attended to by friendly waitstaff. There’s a wide selection of entrees on the menu. We chose the Mediterranean Salad for my wife and the Build Your Burger with side of fries and cup of Hearty Ham and Beans soup for me. The salad was fresh and the ingredients were good. I enjoyed my order, the thickly cut fries were crispy. The Angus burger fully loaded between a brioche bun was excellent.

It took a few minutes before being greeted at the counter and getting seated.
The bathrooms were clean and had a nice design, but all of the toilet paper was empty.
Once seated and ordered, the food came out pretty quick.
The water was not drinkable for me.
The salad was refreshing! The bread came out warm and fluffy with a good flavor. I had the rio chicken with rice pilaf. I found the chicken to be chewy and the rice pilaf to be dry. My husband had the chicken Alfredo which was rich and creamy, the chicken was also chewy.
Betty was sweet and attentive.

The food was really good, but what sold me on this place was the service. Katherine, our server was the best I have had in decades. Not an exaggeration. She was absolutely amazing. You simply can not find better service anywhere. I will definitely be back for the service alone. Thank you for the best restaurant experience in years.

We just left and our food was great
Only 2 areas of feedback –
I got an old fashioned…and it was clear…not a good sign and it tasted weak.
And on top of that we ordered meatloaf but was told they ran out, no biggie we ordered another dish.
Then the server later came to have me pay and there was no physical check. The server was waiting for me to hand her my credit card to pay and told me the total but it sounded high so I asked to see the check and she handed me her handheld electronic bill payment tool.
As soon as she handed it to me she said she forgot to take the meatloaf off the bill etc
Why was it on the bill in the first place?
And why didn’t I get an actual check to see the costs of everything?
Anyways leaving 4 stars as the food was good.

Food was ok, needs some seasoning on everything. Our 1st steak was well done not medium rare as requested. They did however make a correct fresh steak.

Great selection of tasty, home-style classic American fare in a cozy, equally classic American diner-esque space. We stopped by Blue Ridge Cafe & Catering for dinner after a long day of hiking around Shenandoah, and it was exactly what we needed. The food was tasty, warm, and nutritious; we got their salmon with two sides of steamed veggies and meatloaf with a Caesar salad and mashed potatoes. Both dishes were massive and delicious. The salmon was tender, with a lovely slightly charred crust on the outside, and served with a flavourful butter. The veggies were all super fresh and went great with the salmon.

Food absolutely disgusting. Gross. My husband got the chicken Alfredo and the sauce was runny like a soup. My rib eye sandwich was nasty, I ate it because I just got off from a long day at work and was tired. When our waitress served the food and we mentioned how runny the Alfredo sauce was she said “I can’t do anything about that”. Later when we asked for the check she looked at the leftover Alfredo and said let me get the manager. The manager, she was caring & superb. She took off the Alfredo, and even my Dr Pepper. She offered desert but we declined. We won’t be back but at least the manager cared.

Visited this restaurant on a Saturday night. The place was very full. I was seated quickly and my waitress was Casey. She had a great attitude, and my drink came very quickly. When she took my order, she asked all the right questions. My appetizer came very quickly, and literally about a minute after i finished my appetizer, the meal came out. The rib eye was amazing!!! I had been to this restaurant 3 times in the past 6 years, and each time the experience was so terrible, I swore I would never come back, but this time, it was better than I could have imagined. Casey did a PERFECT job, and the whole experience was better than I could have thought. I will definitely go back, and even take my family with me next time

I have been going here for years and love the outdoor area but it is considered a smoking area which isn’t nice while trying to eat. They have live music out there and the smoke makes it hard to enjoy it. Move the bands in back or smoking area outside. There was even smoke in bar area inside from door opening every minute of the night. Please fix this so it’s more enjoyable for non smokers.

Food was delicious and well portioned. Fast and friendly service. Be sure to pay with exact change if paying with cash. Our server advised us that they don’t have a way to provide coins back for change when we paid in cash without exact change. The prices are affordable and we ate the pretzel and mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and salmon with fries and country fried chicken steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli with a side salad. Everything was delicious.
