On more than one occasion, there has been visible and audible tension among staff members. During one visit, I witnessed a cook openly arguing with a server on the floor. While I understand that work environments can be stressful, especially during busy hours, these disagreements were occurring in front of customers and negatively affected the overall dining experience. The server involved is actually one of my favorites, Jason, which made the situation even more disappointing to observe.
On another weekend visit, a different cook was loudly expressing frustration about customers coming in, making remarks that suggested resentment toward patrons simply for dining there. Hearing comments about customers “having no lives” and witnessing profanity being used openly while food was being prepared was uncomfortable and unprofessional. Additionally, there were moments where staff members appeared disengaged, standing together discussing their reluctance to call out orders, which further contributed to an unwelcoming atmosphere.
I want to be clear that I genuinely enjoy this Waffle House and have always appreciated its typically warm, homey feel. That is why these experiences stood out so strongly. The recent lack of cohesion, professionalism, and positive morale among the staff has made the environment feel tense rather than inviting.
I hope management is able to address these concerns, as this location has the potential to continue being a great place to dine if the atmosphere returns to the welcoming and respectful standard Waffle House is known for. I would truly like to continue visiting and recommending this location, but recent experiences suggest that some attention is needed to restore that sense of comfort and hospitality.
Fantastic and filling breakfast, the hashbrowns here are delicious, eggs cooked perfectly. I’ll be back tomorrow! I love that’s it’s clean and open 24 hours!!
Was at this location on 12/25/18 around 11:30pm. It was empty, but the entire restaurant was NASTY, GROSS, and unacceptable!
1) The restaurant was virtually empty (it was midnight after Christmas), however nearly every table had stacks of dirty plates, cups, and food particles littered about.
2) The floor was as nasty as an outdoor cellar. From dust bunnies, to bacon bits it looked as if no one had mopped the store in weeks.
3) there was a trash can in the middle of the idle, full of garbage.
4) there was a mop resting on a syrup bottle by my table.
5) I saw one of the cooks dig in his nose while he thought no one was watching.
6) even the one counter we actually found to sit at was sticky and stained with butter from the last guest.
I have been to many Waffle House restaurants in my life. We all have come to accept less than stellar cleanliness inside of any Waffle House. But what I witness at this location last night was absolutely atrocious! Please view the pictures for more details.
I witnessed some gross things. Like, I couldn’t finish my food. The cook wasn’t changing out his gloves…and he kept touching his face, hat, and other random things. All the while he’s grabbing raw meat from a filthy looking fridge. Like, there’s virus and stuff going around. What is wrong with this guy?
