Great Fusion Flavors and Fresh Seafood!
We stopped by Fish On in Destin and had a really solid experience. It’s a great spot if you’re looking for something a little different than your standard fried fish basket.
We tried a mix of the specials for lunch:
* Seafood Paella: This was the standout. The seafood was fresh and perfectly cooked, and the rice had great flavor. You can tell they put effort into the authentic seasoning.
* Cuban Sandwich: A very respectable Cuban. The bread was pressed perfectly, and the balance of meat to pickles/mustard was spot on.
The service was friendly and the atmosphere is casual and welcoming. It didn’t quite hit that “life-changing” 5-star mark for me, but it is a very strong 4-star choice for a quality lunch or dinner in Destin. Definitely worth a visit if you want fresh food with a bit of a twist.

The food here is excellent! You will pull in to the Publix plaza and think to yourself “how is this going to beat a “real” restaurant” but let me tell you-it’s great! Fresh clean shrimp with an amazing crunchy fry crust. Fries are good coleslaw was OK-too dry for my taste but I was very happy for the price! The environment is clean and the shutters on the window make you feel like you are by the ocean. Country music plays in the background. Staff is friendly and I’m so happy we picked this place!

Absolutely delicious! If you’re looking for a place that service fresh gulf shrimp and fish look no further! We went shrimp crazy. Boom boom shrimp app, shrimp platter and sandwich. I was so excited after the app, I forgot to get a pic before I took a bite. The white chocolate caramel bread pudding was incredible. We are headed back to try their fresh catch of the day fish and homemade key lime pie!

We had a wonderful lunch. My wife is gluten free and the server quickly had an option with their blackened white fish with grits that she loved. The rest of us had their shrimp lunch special which also was great. We overheard someone talking about their pizza. One of the owners, Bill, came over to ask us how every thing was. We all quickly said wonderful but I inquired about pizza since it was not on the menu. He explained this is a new add on and new menus are in the works. Well, to our surprise, 10 minutes later he brought us a small plain for us to give it a try. It was as good as any pizza I ever had and my friends all agreed. To say the least we will be back. PS, we love local places like this instead of the big chains.

This was a great experience with wonderful staff who were super nice and helpful. The food was delicious. We had fried fish and fried shrimp and it was delicious. We were able to fit a group of 13 outside at their huge tables. Would definitely eat here again!

This new place is AMAZING! First, the gentlemen that took our order at the register was very polite and courteous. Second, the food came out very quick. I had the burger and a house salad. The portions are HUGE. My wife had Greek salad with Mahi and my daughter the fried shrimp and Mac n cheese. All the food was delicious and I even loved the shrimp and I don’t like seafood. Everything tasted so fresh. 10/10 go to this place instead of a tourist trap.

Nice large seating area inside and outside. Friendly staff, very pleasant waiter, she did an amazing job in serving and taking plates. Classic burger and cole slaw was great. Recommend!

I so wish I would have taken photos. The food was GREAT! Service was quick and the owners were so friendly. I had the 1/2 Steamer Bowl and was perfectly cooked. I will try the spicy one the next time. My husband had a salad with grilled shrimp. Was very fresh and big! Great dining experience. And the Chef is famous!

Upon walking in the place was almost completely empty with just one couple sat at the back of the restaurant. The ordering system is a bit unintuitive, but staff were happy and helpful. We ordered a starter and a main each, nothing crazy. My starter was labelled as a “sharing” but was two, rather small crab cakes. Certainly glad I didn’t have to share. While these tasted pretty good, they were lukewarm at best. The wife has the soup of the day which was much hotter and very tasty, even had a whole chunk of crab shell in it… Then the mains arrived, I went for the fish of the day, triple tail, as I’d never heard of it, with Mac’n’cheese. Both of which were underwhelming…just didn’t hit the spot, dare I say a little bland. The wife went for fish n chips, which again was a little underwhelming – but was certainly a large portion. Then to the biggest problem, the bill came to $102! Yikes! That was probably twice what we should have paid for the quality of the meal…it’s just a shame. The place was cold and a little soulless, but can’t fault the staff, just didn’t have the heart to tell them the meal wasn’t up to scratch…maybe we just caught them on a quiet night.
