Reviews
– Cool and fun setting with lots of indoor and outdoor seating (think Señor Froggs or El Squid Row vibes, but without the insanity).
– The bar upstairs is big with lots of seating as well.
– Breakfast was good. Our group had the Basic Breakfast and it was perfect. We also had the blueberry pancakes (they were great) and the avocado toast with a poached egg which was the best avocado toast we’ve ever had.
– Lunch….phenomenal (Kalua pork is the winner). Tacos were huge and loaded with pork! The enchiladas were the same and the wet burrito was huge. All three were amazing and my favorite meal we had in Kihei!
– Bonus points for some entertaining artwork in the restrooms (iykyk)!
Cons:
– None. The is so trivial and has nothing to do with the food, but they were out of the cool sugar skull t-shirts.
Will definitely be back when we’re in Kihei again.
We opted for the pork enchiladas, pork tacos, and chicken quesadilla. All were very good. Had a side of guac which was actually a little spicy. Overall a solid meal.
Had the Paloma while hubs had a beer. Very good drink. Kiddo had churros and they were very generously sized.
Atmosphere on the patio is lovely. Service from Kia was great. We’ll definitely return if we’re on the island again.
The server took our drink order and then our order for dinner. She brought the chips and salsa and actually asked if we wanted some time before putting our order in. What a nice surprise and a great idea.
Food and drinks were excellent and plenty of local flare was part of the atmosphere!
The chips and guacamole were fantastic! And we really enjoyed the refried Pinto beans.
I had the tacos. I generally like my tortillas fried but other than that they were good. I liked the rice, although it was a dryer version and less tomato than I’m used to.
My friends had enchiladas. The mole, or enchilada sauce, was a little tangy and savory. Again, we are used to more tomato flavor less spice. This was a darker red, so probably a chocolate base is my guess.
Finally, and this might be a bit controversial, the salsa was sweet. Now, I, personally, cannot hang with anything super spicy. I’m usually stuck dipping a tortilla chip in and shaking off any excess before I can eat it. This was very mild, so I loved it! Lol! But most people from our area would probably want to upgrade to the spicier versions.
The service was quick and friendly. We stayed nearby, so I could see that it was super busy all of the time. I would definitely recommend reservations if you think you’re going to pop in.
Food is consistently quality and delicious recipes. The view of the ocean is breathtaking. There is literally not a bad seat. The service is fast and the staff makes you feel like family. Kia and Anna were wonderful!
Omelettes, french toast, and fried rice are some of my favorites.
