Prime Rib Room on the River – Riverside Resort
Prime Rib Room | Laughlin, NV
Prime Rib Room at Don Laughlin’s Riverside Resort Hotel & Casino
Reviews
The Atmosphere was nice. Even better if you have a seat by the river. The rib was delicious. They ask how you would like it to your liking. Desert selection was great. Service was great! We had our drinks filled at least 3x .
I strongly suggest a reservation but we were fortunate to be able to have only a short wait as walk-ins. We had a cocktail at the bar and were seated pretty quickly.
The salad bar and buffet of sides was top-notch. Everything was of good quality and we struggled to save enough room for the prime rib. The prime rib was delivered table-side and it was delicious!
The staff provides a wonderful experience! The Prime Rib Room is at Don Laughlin’s Riverside Resort and it’s tucked in the back corner…but it’s worth the walk!
The salad and side bar is PHENOMENAL. The bacon jam for the potatoes is divine. The seafood salad uses real shrimp. Every side item is beyond amazing.
The chicken was great. It’s a chicken cordon bleu was great. The sause is phenomenal and the chicken was tender and very moist with great flavor.
The prime rib was pretty good but was a little dry and had a slight roast beef flavor.
The brownie was phenomenal. Very tasty. The chocolate cake was pretty good but was slightly dry on the edges as if maybe it had been sitting for a little bit.
Overall the food is good, especially for the price. The sides are amazing. Highly recommend the chicken. And the service is beyond phenomenal and the view of the river is beautiful.
The room reminded me very much of a cruise ship. A carnival cruise ship, if carnival Cruise had a prime rib night. The first thing I noticed, our silverware was covered in a greasy film that I had to wipe off with a napkin. The silverware was also very stained from multiple use. It was the same with the plates. They were heavily scarred for millions of uses. The salad bar was pretty spartan, not many choices. The potato dishes were good but basic buffet food. This is where this place is a winner. The prime rib is excellent very tender and juicy. They’ll ask you how you like it and we’ll serve you accordingly. I had the chicken Cordon Bleu. It was just OK. The service is excellent. Gregory is one of the best waiters I’ve had in a long long time. He seemed genuinely happy to serve us and said so. I wish there were more like him, we were comped by the casino so I wouldn’t pay the $28 a person fee unless I really wanted prime rib.I would just go to the regular buffet.
To be clear, you must make reservations to dine here.
And as the restaurant’s name suggests, the prime rib is their specialty. While it has a fair amount of fat on it, it’s very tasty. The servers will also ask if you want mushrooms or horseradish (mild or hot) with your meat. Be warned though: the hot horseradish is HOT.
The salad bar was about what you would expect but they did have some good watermelon and cantaloupe chunks available. The potato bar and side bar had lots of variety; I found the dishes I tried to be good quality.
As for the dessert bar, I would advise against eating the cannolis since they tasted dry and the cream inside wasn’t sweet. The other desserts were better like the cheesecake and brownies.
I’d like to thank the wait staff for being so attentive to my group and offer thanks to Kevin, the guy who served us prime rib from the cart. He had a great sense of humor and pleasant demeanor that made my dining experience here even more worthwhile.
If I get the chance, I’ll make sure to reserve another dinner at the Prime Rib Room.
When it’s time for the entrée, the highlight arrives: your prime rib is carved tableside, right in front of you, to your preferred cut. Save room for dessert—the cheesecake and seasonal pumpkin pie were both excellent.
At the time of writing, the price was $28 before tax and tip, coming out to about $30.35 after tax. For the quality, presentation, and overall experience, it’s an exceptional value and well worth it.
