This place has been on my list to try for a while and it didn’t disappoint. Tried a couple cocktails that were both well done and started with the calamari appetizer. It was on the sweet side and overall enjoyable. The entrees on the other hand were excellent! I got the Roulade and my girlfriend got the Sea Bass. The fish in both was seasoned and cooked perfectly .

So, we’ve been meaning to visit for quite a while. We finally made it. I was very tempted by some turf (beef tenderloin) on the menu, but I came for surf. We had a great appetizer – soft shell crab, i had the Chilean sea bass which did not disappoint! My husband had salmon with sweet potato ravioli. I will definitely return!

The environment is so relaxing. The color palette is very earthy. They pay attention to details like live plants, fresh cut flowers on the table and the art work on the walls. The menu is amazing. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I especially like that she left water and iced tea on the table so we could have what we needed, but still came by to fill the glasses. I thought the prices were reasonable for an upscale restaurant. I would definitely recommend the restaurant and will go back if I am back in Greensboro.

My amazing lady took me here on my birthday because I wanted an amazing Sea Bass.

The greeting and wait staff were very nice curtious and professional. Water bottle never got empty. We were checked on but not constantly bothered.

Every dish that came out looked amazing. Not just for taste but also great picture worthy plate presentation. Yes I “plate hawk” lol I had my sea base which was cooked to perfection but under seasoned slightly. Almost was embarrassed to ask for salt. My lovely lady had the Mahi mahi and it also was cooked to perfection texturely and tasted like it looked. Had the Calamari appetizer as I am a junky for it. Again cooked perfectly not chewy or soggy at all and the bean sauce they put it on is something I would have never thought would pair with it but it did amazingly. Portions were of a very decent size.

With praise comes critique. The atmosphere was okay at best there is no sound dampening inside of an industrial cement building painted white with maybe one painting on a wall. The music is playing but you can hear everything from everybody bouncing around the walls. Which can make a romantic time much less enjoyable. Which leads me to pricing.

Pricing, typically when I gauge pricing it’s not just on the food but everything from service to atmosphere. At this level of pricing I would expect a more intimate configuration of the tables/seating and possible white table service. 2 of us with 1 glass of wine each an appetizer and a entree each was a total $145 plus tip.

Would I go back? Yes The food and presentation and service were that good to make up for the atmosphere issues. I just wouldn’t go there for a romantic time next time.

This was our second dining experience and it was even better the second time! Our server Ivy was fantastic and made the already incredible dinner even better. Her knowledge of the menu was superb and her wit and charm only added to the entire experience. The food tastes even better than it looks, and that’s saying something!

Great attentive service and attention to customers. Beautiful space with nice ambiance and table space. Has the calamari which had a delicious slightly spice over red beans and was so good. Loved the ahi tuna with wasabi potato’s and slaw. One of the best tuna dishes I’ve had. Such nice place with exceptional service and dishes.

Started with the Coconut Shrimp & Crab Cakes and I’m still thinking about them. Perfectly crisp, a little jerk-spice heat, and that pickled-anise/corn sauce + peach-mango situation is an elite combo. The Shrimp & Pork Falafel Bites were a wild (and winning) twist super savory, brightened up with lemon-basil aioli and muhammara clean plate club, no crumbs left.

The Caesar is how a Caesar should be: cold, crunchy romaine, big Parmesan energy, and a legit house dressing with herb toast points that didn’t get soggy. For the main, the Chilean Sea Bass was flawless buttery and silky with a crisp sear, sitting on a mushroom-leek risotto cake that deserves its own fan club. The garlic haricots verts and toasted almonds gave it snap, and the roasted-pepper mornay + crab-stuffed tomatoes took it into “don’t share with the table” territory.

Closed with the Cheesecake sweet-potato base, gingersnap crust, pecan praline, and salted caramel. It’s cozy, Southern, and decadent without being heavy. A perfect finish.

Service was dialed, pacing was smooth, plates were gorgeous, and the flavors had range—bright, spicy, silky, crunchy everything balanced. If you want a dinner that feels special without being stuffy, this is the move. I’d come back tomorrow just for that sea bass and a second round of those falafel bites.

I had the pleasure of having dinner at 1618 West. The restaurant had good reviews and I was eager to try a new restaurant. The wait staff, was a major hitch in enjoying the meal. Our primary waiter could not help but show us how important he was in our experience. As this was a business meeting, he should have been all but invisible. Instead he frequently interrupted to talk, not to top off wine or ask how food was. In fact, after the first pour of wine, wine was never topped off. Food was never asked about. The top recommendation for appetizer, the calamari was okay, maybe good at a reach. Eating out often, if you have calamari elsewhere, this was under seasoned and while having interesting dips, nothing to write home about. The Tartare was good, but probably 2 oz of meat served with wilting cheese bread and arugula. Our table was able to order all of the fishes on the entre menu. Each was perfectly cooked. However, timing of arrival at the table was staggered, which the waiter ensured us was to avoid use of heat lamps or other such device. He did not account for the chefs ability to time three different entrees, which would be expected. Instead food died on the plates before all could be served.
Overall, for a restaurant of this cost, it isn’t worth it, but the environment is nice, it has parking, and a solid wine list. The food is above average, but priced as such. I’d give this restaurant another shot, but not on my dime.

The service is superfast. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Food was excellent. Ambience was nice but noisy. They should probably invest in some noise suppression audio equipment.
Had the calamari as an appetizer, it was OK, my Mrs. had the tenderloin cooked Medium, was very good. I had the grouper which was really good however, for the price I think the fish portion should’ve been a little bigger. Will be back again.

Enjoyed brunch with friends. The lavender lemonade cocktail was refreshing, and the menu options were many. Great service and calm atmosphere. Ideal for a dinner/ date night…I think it would look lovely in the evenings!
