On March 15, 2026 the big boy location in grand Blanc Michigan will be closing permanently. I want to thank this restaurant for persevering for so many years in the economic reality that all good things come to an end. In 1955 in Saint Clair Shores my father was a high school teacher in the Southlake school district and at 9 mile in Jefferson sat my first experience. The child had a big boys. It was a hotspot for teenagers. All teens showed up with the big boy and because my dad was the coolest teacher at Southlake high school that the kids loved us being there as a family and enjoyed just being great kids with the milkshakes and big boy, burgers and fries and camaraderie and dates and you name it it was there that is where I received my first big boy and I loved it living in Brighton it sad to see the heartland and Brighton big boys have long gone, but now to see that grand Blanc has disappearing. It just puts a small hole in my heart of my happy memories of my childhood 70+ years ago thank you for the memories of nostalgia the sauce, the great waiter that we would go and visit every once in a while, and I wish the best to the owners and to the current staff members that are struggling this last week as a goodbye to a little place in Michigan history God bless all of you, And. We stopped for dinner last night & had a lovely meal. My veggie omelet was delicious. Everything was so fresh. My dining companions had spaghetti with marinara sauce & the stuffed potatoe pancakes. Of course the spaghetti was yummy and the potatoe pancakes were very a very different option. Our waitress, Samantha explained that they were like an omelet but instead of eggs on the outside, it was the potatoe pancakes. 3 meats in it – what is not to love?? Speaking of our waitress, Samantha was terrific. Always available & right on top of whatever we wanted ir needed. I highly recommend Samantha & Big Boy. You can bet we will be returning soon.

Pulled in on Friday night to an empty parking lot, thought it was my lucky day. However upon entering saw why ..half of what used to be a salad bar, ranch that looked like tartar sauce, fish that was overcooked really just a sad picture of what this restaurant used to be

We went here with some relatives for a belated Christmas get together today. Only a couple other tables had customers, so wasn’t busy at all. Disappointed in the dining experience here. Minute we walked in, hostess asked us how many, she wanted to try and fit 9 people in one booth, we stopped at the grouping of tables and chairs before the booth she pointed us too. Then she wasn’t sure where to put the 9th person, we told her to add a chair at the end of the table. Not put them in a booth by themself. When we ordered, my husband and I both ordered a big boy burger with impossible meat. We didn’t realize one of our relatives ordered the same thing before us, but with only one patty. Needles to say we were disappointed with the burger, as we were expecting 2 for our orders. And the presentation was pitiful. Who puts the burger cheese and toppings on the bottom of the bun. I ordered hot cocoa and that took forever to receive, and we had to ask for our children’s orange juices quite a while after we ordered them. Not very impressed with this location, especially because there wasn’t really that many other customers and it was so slow receiving our items and it came out wrong.

A fine tradition of Big Boy food. Enjoyed the fish and fries, the big boy classic. Side salad was crisp and delicious. The Staff was spot on.

I did not think any big boys existed anymore, and this one did not have very good signage so I did not think it was open. I called them to verify and I was very excited to find out that they are open.
My family stopped in here to have some breakfast for dinner while we were in Grand Blanc.
It was like stepping back in time and visiting a Big Boy during the Glory Days of the company – the ’90. it’s all still here, waiting for you to come check it out.
The food was excellent, the restaurant was clean, everyone was very friendly, the service was quick, and the prices were very reasonable. You could eat two full meals here for the price of a meal at IHOP.

FOOD POISIONING!!! is what my mother and I got after eating the famous slim Jim and a cup of ham/broccoli soup. THATS RIGHT FOOD POISIONING. Ate there Saturday afternoon 1-30-26 @ 2-3 in the afternoon by 4 pm we were back in Holly jockeying for the bathroom to throw up VIOLENTLY or sit down due VOLENTLY SQUIRTING IN THE TOILET !!
WE will not be giving them $44.44 ANY MORE, yep that’s right a slim slim w/fries, a sandwich, 2 cups of soap and 4 hot chocolates 44.44!!! And puked and pooped it right back out. VERY DISAPPOINTED,

Grew up w/Big Boy; not lived near one in years (43). The Slim Jim was as wonderful as I remembered. Their onion rings, tho’ good, are no longer batter fried. They were my favorites, batter fried.
