This is the best hibachi grill that we have ever been to. The filet mignon was cooked (or not cooked! We like our steaks blue rare and no one ever cooks them correctly. ..) perfectly top notch service and food. The onion soup was delicious as well. We will be returning.

The sushi rolls and pot stickers were very good. They also have a hibachi section but we’ll have to try that another time. We tried the lobster roll and the tempura shrimp roll. Other items on the menu looked good except so many had jalapeño, which we don’t like.

This place is a must visit in the area. As soon as I arrived I was seated right away. After ordering my drink I went to the rest room and the restroom was spotless. I then ordered the jalapeño poppers as an appetizer and the steak and lobster hibachi along with ginger saladand miso soup. My appetizer came out about 5 minutes later and the food came out quickly after and everything was absolutely delicious. Service was attentive and very friendly I had zero complaints about my visit.

If you’re looking for great sushi in Victoria, you have to check out Yamato. Getting seated was a breeze, and I ended up at the sushi bar, where a super friendly gentleman from Guatemala was working his magic. He not only made some of the best sushi rolls I’ve had, but he also took the time to decorate each plate beautifully—it really made the meal feel special.
One thing that really stood out was how clean everything was. The sushi chef was constantly wiping down his area and even sweeping up as he went, and I noticed all the staff were diligent about washing their hands and using sanitizer. It’s clear that cleanliness is a big priority here, which I really appreciate.
The fish was fresh, and I loved that they let me customize my roll—adding jalapeño and skipping the cream cheese was no problem at all. My food came out quickly, and the lemon drop cocktail was spot-on. Even the bathrooms were spotless!
The service was excellent all around. My waitress was attentive and kind, and the whole staff seemed to work together seamlessly. Everyone was helpful, not just to me but to each other, which gave the place a really welcoming vibe.
I highly recommend Yamato if you’re in the area. The food and service went above and beyond my expectations, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. (And yes, I snapped a photo a little late because I couldn’t resist sampling the food first—but trust me, it looked as good as it tasted!)

Went there a couple of days ago with my coworkers at night. it was my third time there. I had really good service and the food was really good too. but, it was really messed up this time. nobody came to our table after we had been seated for 15 mins. I would understand why, if was busy during rush hours. But the time we were there was definitely not busy. We didn’t get our soups and salads but it was ok. it’s really nothing to complain about. That is, until another waitress came to our table and asked us how everything was. I told her what I thought and she didn’t seem to be concerned. Even after I told her it was my third time there. she said THEY VE ONLY BEEN OPEN FOR 6 DAYS. I don’t really know why she doubter it. I’ll still recommend this place to ppl but that waitress was really rude.

I love the hibachi ! Chef Scott is really good at entertaining you & the food was great. Their bartender, Nikki, got my drink just right. And my drink was not on their menu, it was just something I enjoy making at home. It can get a little expensive depending how much you order. My waitress Nicole was very attentive & nice.

We had an amazing experience at Yamato Hibachi. Our chef, Martin, was absolutely fantastic — consistent, humble, and very well-managed throughout the cooking show. He kept the energy up the entire time, was polite, positive, and made sure everyone at the table was having fun. The food was great, and the show made dinner even better. If you go, definitely ask for Martin — he’ll make sure you have an awesome hibachi experience!

Our 1st experience was awful. The lobster and rice were horrible. If you get the chicken fried rice, tell them you want the big chicken. Our waitress didn’t tell us that smh. We also made a complaint to the manager and only got $10 off our bill. We will never go back.

This is my wife’s favorite place to eat. They always joke with us and say that we were there yesterday. We enjoy Donnie and TJ. They always make us laugh and have a good time. I would recommend this place to anyone. Food is a little pricey to some, but worth it. They sometimes give you enough to share.

Happened upon this place for lunch and was really Wow’ed by the look and feel of the place along with the service and taste of the food. The lunch pricing is very affordable and worth every morsel. I had the shrimp and salmon hibachi -The Rice is their secret weapon cause I surrendered and ate beyond what I should have. I also let them know about my allergies beforehand and they did a Marvelous job at accommodating me. Must visit if you are ever in Victoria, TX. Can y’all bring one to S.A.?
