We went to Sunset 89 for dinner based on the reviews. The service was excellent and a very clean and inviting restaurant. We ordered two dishes. The Brussels sprouts was good and the Korean Kalbi was mediocre (overcooked for our liking). The prices are relatively expensive as well.
Fyi – They add 18% tips to the bill automatically. We were fine with this given the good service but important to know that it’s not optional.

5/5 all around! We were visiting Page from Illinois and really enjoyed Sunset 89. The food and drinks were delicious and our service was amazing! The atmosphere and sunset views are stunning, so much so that we came back for a sunset drink another day. Our waiter was so helpful and friendly, he gave us suggestions for other places to check out and was super accommodating. We loved it here, highly recommend!

Looooove sunset 89. Not only is the name fitting for the incredible sunsets you get to watch while enjoying. But the food is A-MAZ-ING. If youre just visiting make sure to go here. The service from ALL staff has always been nothing but great 10/10 for sure.
Also they do have venue opportunities for occasions. We had our wedding here and the pictures came out SO cool

The food here is so so, but it’s incredibly expensive. A pork belly noodle alone cost $32 before tax. This is ridiculous and insane, and most importantly, it’s not tasty. I can’t even finish it.
This restaurant is even more expensive than the restaurants in the Bay Area in California. I highly recommend avoiding this place. There are plenty of good choices in town.

The restaurant is situated in a great location, conveniently close to Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon. Moving on to the food, the chicken we ordered was overcooked, chewy, and excessively salted (perhaps it wasn’t my day). The chicken dumplings and tofu stir-fry were passable. Overall, my experience with the food left me feeling that I had overpaid.

Service was excellent, very friendly and our food came out hot and quickly. Atmosphere gets 5 stars because of the view. As per my waiter’s suggestion around sunset I took a walk around our back and got a great view. Prices are slightly high for steaks but there are lots of other options that are more reasonable to choose from. Although the steaks looked great. My husband’s short rib bowl was absolutely delicious. So many great flavors and the meat was very tender.

We arrived about an hour after it opened on a Monday, noon. We were waiting to be seated because there was a “Please wait to be seated” sign at the door. After a few minutes, a waiter came in from helping patrons outside and told us we could sit anywhere. After a few more minutes it became clear that he was the only waiter working. We also noticed that there was only one cook in the kitchen working. There were a few people eating when we arrived but not many. This is September, so there are a lot of tourists in the area. It felt like this establishment was not prepared for serving customers.
The atmosphere is nice outside. There’s a patch of grass behind the building overlooking a beautiful view. Inside its very plain. The Hawaiian/Asian theme of the food served is nearly the only influence in the location. There are 5 pictures that are island themed, some tiki carvings on the walls by the bathrooms, and some flowers and paddles above the fireplace inside. Otherwise it looks like an American restaurant that serves Hawaiian/Asian inspired food.
The food was ok. Not the best I’ve had but not awful. I wouldn’t have the desire to come here again, especially with the very slow service. Some would say “in northern Arizona, what do you expect?” The answer is I expect a restaurant that advertises they serve this style of food to put there heart and soul into it and not just sit on the fact that they are one of the only places in the area that serves this type of food. It’s possible that they didn’t have more waiters and cooks because they are struggling to make ends meet. Which isn’t a surprise given the service, food, and lack of related atmosphere inside. I wish them the best but they need to improve service, food and the interior theme. Also, the food is too expensive for the quality. You aren’t paying for atmosphere either. This is a tourist price gouge.

We tried kimchi chicken dumplings, teriyaki chicken, fish&chips, and chicken katsu sandwich. Everything was delicious. Would recommend to visit. We were very tired after Horseshoe Band, so this place feels as oasis in the desert. Their special kimchi coleslaw tastes delicious. Kimchi chicken dumplings with sweet sauce were very good, sweet and zesty, love it. I read reviews before coming. Well….kstsu chicken is not dry, it’s katsu – crispy, thin and crunchy panco breaded. It’s how it’s supposed to be done. Highly recommend!
