I’ve lived less than a mile from this place for nearly a year and finally walked in and ordered a meal. Having never been in here I didn’t know what to expect but the staff member behind the counter was able to explain everything clearly.

I learned it’s a one-of-kind restaurant started by a couple, one of which is from Texas and the other who is from Hawaii. Hence the Texas/Hawaii fusion.

The girl behind the counter recommended a meal and decided to give it a try.

It was quite good. Pulled pork, fried chicken and something else, all mixed with a hint of southern flavors and the bright shocks of pineapple. Just like pineapple on pizza, you don’t think it’s going to work but it does.

I chose macaroni salad and side salad as my sides and was delighted to see they were reasonable proportions.

I’d go back and try a few other things on the menu and I suggest you do too.

We met a friend here for a late lunch one day. It was very quiet when we walked in, and didn’t see any patrons or employees. They were on a shift change, but the person that was leaving said she’d stay for us so we could order. She was very friendly, telling lots of stories. Regardless, it took a while to order, which was okay since we weren’t in a hurry.

Hangry Ohana had a food truck that we had tried a few years ago at a car show in Parker that I remember, so was excited to see a physical location open. We ordered a variety of different dishes so we could sample them all. They were all very tasty, but a bit salty. We had enough for leftovers, which didn’t really keep as good as some things, perhaps because some items are fried. There are fountain drinks, but also some good Hawaiian juices, and some beer.

I had the loco moco on the truck years ago and it was awesome. I do want to order that again!

First time coming here.. where do I even start!!? It took 35 minutes to get our food!
My husband asked for a beer and another girl had to come out and pour it. She couldn’t pronounce the beer and then wasted sooo much all over the counter and dumping out several cups of foam first.
Then there was confusion between the menu posted online and the menu here. Also, some tables were dirty which is unacceptable any time, but especially when they were slow and with Covid. When our food did finally come out, it was inedible. The ribs were non-existent and burnt to a crisp. (See my photo) I ordered a 2-meat combo and the katsu chicken was also over fried. The bacon fried rice had huge chunks of white rice, not mixed, and the bacon was under cooked. The macaroni salad had so much mayo on it, it was covered! Our son ordered bbq chicken which came with tots. The chicken was rubbery and the tots were totally mushy and full of grease. I would NEVER recommend anyone waste their $$ here. I’ll probably be sick from the small portion of food I ate, and worst of all, I left hungry bc you couldn’t eat what was served… 35 minutes later for food in a plastic to go container, for dine-in.

What happened to Hangry Ohana? It was better than the other Hawaiian restaurants before but.. Everything was overcooked and inedible. We ordered kalbi and don’t eat burned foods so basically wasted $19.99. The tater tots used to be so good but they were hard and probably doubled fried. Without the garlic aioli sauce.. Guess we’ll stick to L&L

UPDATE: I came back three years later to give it another shot and it was much better. The bacon fried rice was just right this time. The chicken katsu was super crunchy on the outside. So the other reviews saying it’s over-fried might not be entirely inaccurate but I don’t mind crispy crunchy fried chicken. I’d rather have that than soggy fried chicken. Much better this time. Glad I gave it another try! Bumping my rating from 3 stars to 5

ORIGINAL POST: The kalua pulled pork and the bacon fried rice were on the salty side, not just my opinion but I had three people that were with me try my plate and they agreed it was too salty.

But the tater tots were great, mai tai was good, ribs were tender. Service was mediocre

Really like Hawaiian food and you can see multiple reviews on my profile. This one could be the worst I’ve ever been to. We ordered the Chicken Katsu with Mac and the meat Jun. The Mac looked awesome but was the most bland I’ve ever eaten and after 2 bites I was done. The Chicken Katsu was a little overdone and the sauce was quite different than traditional. As for the Meat Jun it was a little rubbery and didn’t have much flavor at all, I ate 2 pieces and decided to just finish the Katsu. Overall I threw about 75 percent of the meal away and wouldn’t return.

Overpriced, and most of it wasn’t amazing. The potato salad was bomb, I’ll give them that. Somehow I only got a tiny scoop of that though, and my other side was way bigger (bacon fried rice).

The bacon fried rice tasted like it was fried completely in bacon grease instead of oil, which I was not prepared for. Not my thing. It was kind of gross honestly. Tasted like just rice, bacon grease, soy sauce, and a few bacon bits. No vegetables or egg.

The chicken and pork were alright. A little bit over cooked/burnt in some cases.

All this for $16.62. This is the quality I’d expect for a $6 plate of Chinese food. I’d get a slightly bigger portion size there too. Staff was friendly though.

2018 Nov, 1 pm, Party 2.

Easy parking. Order food at the counter and they bring the food to you.

Food is good and prices are decent. 2 lunches was about $20. The food were served in to-go boxes.

Facility is spacious and clean.

Staff are nice.

I tried the combo plate and everything was awesome! We were going to take our food to go, but the place was decorated so cute and we decided to stay to hear the fun, upbeat Hawaiian music they were playing. It’s great to have another BBQ option in Parker.

Finally had the nerve to try this place and I was pleasantly surprised. The fried rice was amazing. The katsu chicken was outstanding. The sauce only added to the yummyness (not a word, I know) of this dish. I ordered online and picked it up, was ready in a reasonable amount of time. I would have given it five stars but the Mac salad was not as delicious as the rest of the meal. Next time, I’ll get double of the rice or try a different side. The restaurant is much bigger than it appears, so you can actually eat inside if you’de like. All around a great meal and I would totally recommend trying it.
