This was my first time here, and it was the worst BBQ I have ever had in my life. (I have lived in the south for over 15 years).
Yesterday we ordered some BBQ after a hike in the mountains. The food was so terrible I was compelled to write a review. I took photos as well for evidence:
Photo 1: The hushpuppies were extremely dry and tough, and tasted like they were made days ago.
Photo 2: This was the most disappointing – I paid extra for an additional rack of ribs. The meat was so tough, dry, and flavorless, I didn’t eat the 2nd rack and ended up throwing it away. These were the worst ribs I have ever had.
Photo 3: The pulled pork was dry and flavorless, with only a taste of a bit of salt, I also threw it away.
Photo 4: This mac and cheese was some of the worst I have ever had. It was soupy, watery, and the maceroni was pulverized into a pulp – way overcooked. It was thrown away.
My girflriend also tried all of the food and did not finish any of it either – she agreed none of it was good. Overall, we weere extremely disappointed in Hawg Wild.

1st time here we was on vacation , Looking 4 Some good barbecued food & This place was very close 2 r Room so we decided 2 Check it out . NO Regrets here , Everything was delicious & Spot on. R Waitress was very nice & Very friendly , Also helpful . We ordered the sampler , It was very filling & Very yummy . Next time we’re in the area we will definitely be stopping here again . My first and last visit. Went today for lunch, our waitress told us she would give us time to look at the menu, and just disappeared. When she brought our tea, there was almost no ice, and I didn’t order hot tea. The barbecue was tasteless. She asked which sauce for the bbq, but it came with none, so I used what was on the table. She brought our check shortly after bringing the food. It is overpriced for what you get. The only positive thing I have to say is the fries were tasty.

We’ve always loved Hawg Wild. But today when went in the food was just not good, nothing like it used to be. We haven’t been in a few months and we know the restaurant got bought out recently. I even asked the waiter if the food had changed recipes at all before we put in our order. The macaroni was so watery, the noodles mushy, the salad was half the size it used to be, and the burger patty my son got tasted like it was boiled. I feel so bad writing this review but I just hope the management of the restaurant sees this and tries to make the food better. This is a huge restaurant for our area and I’d hate to see it run out of business because the food quality has plummeted. However, the service and atmosphere was great like always!

The food was great. We got an appetizer of fried mushrooms which were so good. Definitely hit the spot. I got a full rack of ribs, a side of Mac n cheese, and a side of okra. The ribs were so good. You could taste the cherry wood smoke. The sauce was very tasty. The Mac n cheese was not so good in my opinion, but I am not letting that affect the rating bc the service and the rest of the food was great.

We are camping over at Davidson River Campground and we stopped here for dinner. The food was not bad, the pulled pork and ribs were good. The fries and coleslaw were good. The hush puppies were over fried. The bun and for the sandwich tasted like mush.
The peach cobbler was alright. It was a square of ice cream, with some sort of brown sugar sauce over the top. I wouldn’t get it again.
The Service was excellent. We would come here again.

Stopped in on the way back from Looking Glass Falls Falls, first time ever eating here. It was lunchtime, but we were promptly seated. Our server was named Anna (Owen), she was exceptional! She was friendly, very helpful and made lunch a great experience! The menu had a lot of choices, but my wife and I chose the $9.50 lunch special. It consisted of a BBQ sandwich (either Eastern or Western style), French fries, Cole slaw, baked beans and hush puppies ! We WILL be back!!

Food was very good. I had the eastern bbq pork sandwich with fries. Wife had the plate with fried okra. Grandkids had burgers which were excellent. Try the fresh made pork rinds, they come out sizzling and delicious. All good! I recommend this place! Real smoked bbq NC style.

First time here to this barbecue establishment service was okay food came out shortly after we ordered the macaroni and cheese tasted like frozen Stouffer’s macaroni and cheese ! Besides fried cauliflower was very good and the loaded baked potato. Overall recommend this BBQ restaurant.
