The decor is very Vermont, one room, video included, is adorned with different hand-made quilts.
They serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and a “quality cup of coffee,” as my grandfather says. I got toast and a grilled tomato. Every table is crowded with creamer, jellies, butters, and peanut butter single-serves. This is something I love.
It was my grandfather’s 90th birthday and they didn’t question my request for a birthday candle and to “just carry it to him because getting a dessert would upset him”. They put the candle in my hand, lit it, and gave me a smile. They were our first stop on a quality birthday adventure.
We were in, out, needy, and treated with generosity, hospitality, and kindness. Definitely go to Rosie’s and then go back again.
Feels like a lodge upon entering. Good wide open space with comfortable booth seats.
The food is good and prices are reasonable. Really enjoyed the Ravioli in cream sauce. Service is courteous & efficient.
If this venue is symbolic of Vermont then I’m loving it. Great vibes
November 18 2024 Edit: I came by here once again on a medical trip, expecting the usual quality and service, and I was highly disappointed. First, the person waiting my table was unsmiling and inattentive. Had to ask twice for water. The other person serving other tables was the opposite! I ordered fish & chips, and what they brought me was NOT what any restaurant would normally call “Fish and Chips!” While she assured me they were cooked in-house, what I got was a plate with very dry fish sticks… looking like they came out of a Gorton’s box. The coleslaw was also watery. In short, not the quality meal as expected from Rosie’s. Maybe it was the time of year. But if I come here again, it won’t be for Fish & Chips! For the same price, I could have got two nice filets, chips, and great coleslaw at 99 Restaurant in Plattsburgh, my destination, if I hadn’t stopped at Rosie’s. I DO hope this isn’t representative of this meal or this time of year. Until I find out otherwise, I have reduced my full five-star recommendation to Three.
3 people,3 drinks and SHARED dessert, with tip,( now they charge you for using a card.)$108.00…..Thank you but no!
The waitresses are friendly.
The gentleman that sits at the front desk needs to be replaced. He acts like it’s a chore to be there.
God help us all…. REPLACE your damn chef!
Strawberry rhubarb cobbler should not be Gray, tasteless and cold.
