For context I have Autism, Anxiety, PCOS, Prediabetes, Moderate sleep apnea, mild GERD and Gastroparesis and more
As someone who lives close by to this location it saddens and angers me to say this but I will now ban myself from this location and McDonald’s in general.
The last time I was there I was sleeping, I’m also in a rocky situation so I can’t be home a lot. A staff member who was very thin and a girl woke me up and told me “you can’t be sleeping here unless you order something,” which I previously did using 1,500 points to get a McChicken. Meanwhile someone on their laptop who must’ve been gaming could’ve potentially had food that was ordered using points as well and wasn’t told “You can’t keep gaming/using your laptop unless you order something,” mind you they were gaming long before I even entered the building.
Then I went to the bathroom and quickly ran out of toilet paper, although I quickly went into a different bathroom to finish wiping, almost immediately a different girl with dyed pink hair and glasses (who’s strict and acts unprofessional and rude) bashed me and confronted me by saying that I can’t leave my stuff in the other stall. I calmly explained there wasn’t any toilet paper in there so I temporarily moved to the other one to wipe. She got all huffy, she said “You still can’t leave your stuff in here.” I already struggle with invisible medical conditions and I said , “I don’t want my filth to be on my bags,” she gave the look like whatever, walked away and didn’t even apologize. With the stress from my living situation and the previous staff member I could feel an anxiety attack waiting to happen.
Last year at the beginning I had no problems, the staff were nice, friendly and lenient, now they’re jerks and strict. I also remember that the previous manager would be more lenient and would let people quickly finish their food and drinks, the pink haired one doesn’t. As a night owl this makes it harder for me to order anything anymore without worrying about having to be outside to continue eating and drinking, and while I do understand that rules are rules this is a bigger problem during the colder seasons as I don’t have a vehicle to continue eating/drinking what I paid for. What once felt like a community hub now feels pressuring. Meanwhile I can go to Burger King and not order anything for a long time and they don’t bug me. While it is understandable that you shouldn’t be sleeping if you didn’t order anything (even though I did with points,) the girl acted more demanding than concerned. Even though they’re not in town I’ll be trying out Chick-fil-a in Duluth as I’ve been hearing that their food and service is good, Popeyes also has good food. I’ve deleted the app after spending my last 6,000 points, accumulated over 24,000+ points due to low income and accessibility since I moved here in 2024 and you’ve lost a loyal customer. Goodbye McDonald’s, hello Chick-fil-A and Burger King!
PS: I’ve also noticed that myself and others often have to wait a long time (anywhere from 5-15+ minutes) at the counter just to pay and order. Even when staff acknowledge us, but either are too busy or seem bothered by our presence. I’ve also noticed that food takes longer to get to customers and mistakes of orders have been happening more frequently. More problems that weren’t happening before the previous manager left
