Social Profile:

The Colandrea brothers lend authenticity to their growing chain of popular Italian Panhandle restaurants. There’s something endearing about a family-run business, especially a restaurant. Knowing there are blood ties behind the counter just seems to add character to a grub hub. King’s New York Pizza and Restaurant are run by the Colandreas, a large family of Italian-Americans who lend authenticity to their traditional Italian food.

Low-key Italian outpost offers a varied menu of familiar dishes including hoagies & ravioli.

Have eaten at a lot of other Kings locations and this as well as the Shepherdstown ones are the best. The food is consistently great..full of flavor and nice portion sizes. Try the stuffed pizza if you haven’t..one slice will fill you up. Pictured 1 slice cut in half. The subs are always good with lots of meat and semi plentiful on the toppings. Great lunch specials.

*After receiving the reply from management I edited my original review. The text within the () is my responses to their claims!

I ordered around noon(on February 24th. Attached is a photo of my DoorDash order) and the “food” arrived quickly. However, the quality of the food was less than appetizing. My order of spaghetti with “extra” meat sauce barely had any sauce on it. I am not even sure it contained meat! When I took the lid off it instantly made my stomach roll. The over powering smell of shredded cheese(apologize for saying shredded instead of grated) was very overwhelming. Honestly a can of Chef Boyardee Spaghetti Os smells more like spaghetti (I have a right to my opinion) than this $25 plate that I ordered. I took 2 bites, offered it to the other people at the table who quickly declined my offer. It ended up in the trash. With my meal I was given a loaf of bread which was over baked and very dry. The best part of the whole meal was the side salad. Im not sure what the hype is from the community if this is what the food always tastes like from this location. I will continue to go to the Kings in Kearneysville. (The two restaurants may be owned by the same people, and use the same recipes but the food from Kearneysville has NEVER looked or tasted the way this order did. I originally rated service at a 5 star but now basically calling me a liar I will change that to a 2 star! Also I did not state anywhere in the original review that I ordered this meal TODAY you just assumed I did. )

My wife has told me about Pepperoni Rolls for the last 12 yrs, and that the next time we go through WV we would have to get one. Using Microsoft’s Copilot to search for somewhere to get one in Falling Waters or Martinsburg, Copilot actually suggested King’s for Falling Waters. Originally planning to stop there but missed the exit, I recalled seeing one listed on Google maps in Martinsburg, so we stopped there. I am glad we stopped, the roll was phenomenal; so much so, I want to share the experience with the rest of the family. Needless to say, we will be stopping anytime we go through there.

This place is wonderful! I absolutely love their pizza. My nieces used to eat here every year on their fathers birthday. This was his favorite place to eat. Sadly they havnt been able to afford it for a few years. That’s not because of prices though!

Awesome service and yummy pizza.

We tried the zucchini sticks which were a little heavy on the breading but tasted pretty good.

The chicken parmigiano pizza was delish – like a chicken parm sub with more cheese and less bread. Tasty and filling.

Food came out fast – the cooks were hustling. Our server was great!

Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Note the additional charge for using a credit card. We wish we had known this in advance.

Update: we love King’s every time we go. The portions are huge. I got child size lasagna and it is 2 meals for me. Husband got “one” slice of the stuffed pizza, it comes divided in half and he can’t even eat one half. It’s 3 meals for him.

We had cheesesteaks delivered before and they were SO GOOD that we decided to go eat there. We were shocked how good it was! It was literally fancy Italian restaurant good!

We had lasagna and chicken alfredo and both were home made and just delicious! The bread was light & fresh and they have olive oil parmesan cheese & garlic for dipping. We were super impressed and will be back!

I’m new to WVU medicine and decided to try King’s for lunch today. I ordered the steak and cheese special; picked up the food on my lunch break within 15 min of ordering and headed back to work. The food was gross; fries totally saturated with oil; sub soggy and sitting in grease. Again- I work with patients so called the restaurant when I had a minute. First – I was told to come back. Nope – I had been on my lunch break. 2. They offered to send me food. Um – no thanks. 3. I was blamed because time had relapsed between order and call. I WORK WITH PATIENTS!! I couldn’t call the second I unleashed the nasty food. No offer of refund – even though I was willing to bring the food back. Never again.

OK, I will preface this by saying my wife and I grew up in New England where there is great Italian food and pizza on every street corner. But this food is NOT authentic Italian, not even remotely close! Tastes like Ragu with a bunch of cheese slathered all over it. Olive Garden is better than this. Try putting some Italian Seasoning into your bland sauce, my gosh!! Maybe people in this area just don’t know what good Italian food is, or maybe these folks have a bunch of friends and relatives giving them fake positive reviews. But I would rather have an Italian TV dinner than this stuff. The only halfway decent pizza we have found in this area is Angelo’s, and the only real Italian food in the area is Fratelli’s in Middletown.
I will also say honestly that crabcakes in New England suck, they are much much better in this area!

Reply to business’ reply on 10/20/25:
I only mentioned the crabcakes as a way of suggesting that I am not prejudiced by geography, not suggesting I had that at your establishment. And I have been to Italy three times, and your restaurant would not stay open there for more than a week.

Great food great people! Been going here for 6 years and I gotta say, it tastes better every time I get my classic cheese pizza and wings! If you have 30 or so dallors and wanna treat the family, nothing wrong with a pizza from kings!
