This is a great hotel restaurant. The prices are very reasonable. I am staying here for a month so I have tried several of their options. Their chicken fajitas and General TSO chicken are my favorite. I really have not had a bad meal here. Their Cobbfather salad with grilled chicken is an awesome selection if you are trying to eat healthy. The only thing I miss is soup. It would be great to have maybe a soup of the day option 2-3 times a week. For dessert they offer ice cream or cakes, which I believe look like they’re from Sam’s club, but they are still pretty good. The only negative thing I can say is there are little gnats flying all around in the restaurant and bar area. We are constantly swatting them away and it gets pretty annoying. They need to put the apple cider vinegar/dish soap out around the areas to try to get rid of them. If visiting the beach and trying to find someplace good to eat that is reasonably priced, I would highly recommend stopping here.

Please recognize Andre for his service. I am a part of a group that was here for work and I truly appreciate his service with us. If it helps in any way I recommend that you offer his an incentive for how good he treated me and my 2 co workers. Please understand that after Covid it seemed like everywhere else has lost touch with what it means to take care of a customer. Yes, he only served us beer and a few shots but he cares about his work. These are the people that you need to value for your prosperity. May your business be fruitful and filled with employees like Andre. Andre, I hope that the day you open up your expensive bottle of Claze Azul with your brother that you remember Texas Tops and how you helped us with out even knowing how much you helped. Cheers, amigo.

I wouldn’t have thought that the best fish tacos I had in South Padre would’ve been in a hotel restaurant, but here we are. The mango pico de gallo was a nice touch. I also got the fried chicken taco, which was solid as well. The other folks with me got pasta dishes and they liked them.

On the Border Mexican Grill was a standout during our trip, easily coming in as our second favorite meal! It’s super convenient, located right next to where we stayed, which made it an easy and delicious choice. The service? Fantastic! Our server was on top of his game, attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was just right. Honestly, I’m not sure why others have rated their service so low—our experience was nothing short of excellent.
If you love Mexican food, this spot is a must-try. I had the Gran Papi and it was absolutely dedeelish—flavorful, fresh, and filling! The rest of my group was just as impressed with their dishes, all agreeing the food was excellent. Don’t let any mixed reviews fool you, this place is worth checking out!
I only gave three stars for atmosphere because the construction was so loud while we ate.

Our family visited Barry’s Bistro. We were a party of 14 and were seated right away. Our server, Andre, was AMAZING. On top of refills and getting our food out quickly. Definitely, would recommend for anyone to try.

Had a fantastic evening meal. We ordered the onion rings to start. Huge portion for only $6. Well worth ordering. Cajun chicken pasta was seasoned well and very flavorful. Chicken fried steak was very tasty and mashed potatoesand gravy were a great side. Again a great entree for the price. Menu is varied and there is something for everyone.

This place was our second choice of the day to eat. The first place was closed for a family emergency. They are located inside a hotel so they are easy to find. We were sat immediately and the staff were all super nice. Our waitress was very attentive the whole time. The food was good and the chips were very fresh. The drinks were very good and delicious. I would go back.

If you stay the the Hilton or Sand Rose resort, this bar and grill is awesome. Open building on the porch. Huge dance floor. Restrooms. Food and drink. The food was awesome and cheaper and option than anything around is it was off the chart. Burger and fries $8. Grill cheese and fries $5. Hot dog and fries $5. General TSO chicken, rice, egg roll, and vegetables $8. The list goes on.
Highly recommend ordering online and sign up for the Palm rewards club. We purchased enough food and with double points to get a free dinner one night for 8 people. That’s a win. Food was always ready by the time posted but usually sooner. I’ll be going there again.

Wow, this place rocks!! We came for dinner, and we were treated yo some very tasty food. The birria tacos were outstanding and highly we recommend. Our waitress was very polite. On the last day of our stay, we ordered burritos to go so we could eat while driving. Carlos was very helpful with our accommodations and did a really great job. Those burritos were amazing. We couldn’t drive, we ate in the car. The red sauce was delicious. Thanks to the staff for making this experience memorable.
