The service was genuinely great. They all have smile to their faces and nice. We got all our orders on point. They even gave my son a chopstick helper for kids (which I am keeping ).
I enjoyed their appetizers, we got the BBQ squid which was cooked to perfection, not gummy at all and the sauce!
I also enjoyed the aged tofu which was entertaining to eat and to be served the seaweed flakes moves along.
And between the sushi’s we enjoyed their fried selection more and the sashimi plate for me.
It is definitely worth a try!
“Chicken teriyaki” was literally a boiled chicken breast with a bit of teriyaki drizzled on top, not the customary chicken cut up and cooked WITH teriyaki.
Not only was the food unsatisfying, but the portions were also small. The tray was mostly empty and I was still hungry after the meal. The waiter seemed to know it wasn’t much because she asked twice if I wanted to buy anything else.
The food is still solid, and I still enjoy the overall vibe, but the service has noticeably slipped. I’m a simple customer — I usually order two or three rolls and a small side of spicy mayo. On my last visit, there was a small mix-up where Coke ended up in my sweet tea. It wasn’t a big deal, easy fix.
Tonight’s visit, though, was different. I came in after a workout, looking forward to a nice meal. My waitress was new to me. I ordered my usual two starter rolls and spicy mayo. She confirmed, brought my tea, and left. By the time my food arrived 10–15 minutes later, my drink was empty (which she refilled and then ran off without a word), and I still hadn’t received the spicy mayo. I tried to flag her down but couldn’t get her attention.
After waiting another 10–15 minutes, I gave up and just ate. It ruined the whole mood for me because that’s my favorite dipping sauce. She didn’t come back until I was completely finished, at which point she asked if I wanted anything else. I asked for the check and sat there thinking — I normally tip at least $10 no matter what, but tonight, I honestly didn’t receive any real service. For the first time in a long time, I left no tip.
I’ve loved this place for years, but if the service continues like this, I may need to start looking for a new sushi spot.
Final update. I went to the place one more time just to give it a third chance. I got the same waitress from the second time. Just like the last time she was very inattentive and doesn’t listen. This time I got the spicy mayo, but she got me water instead of tea. Took a good 10 minutes for her to come back for me to be able to switch that. The food was good, but when I finished the first and told her what I wanted for a second serving, but unlike what anybody normally does she left the dirty plates on the table right in front of me. Usually those get moved as soon as you are done especially if you’re talking to the waitress. She didn’t clear them until she came back with the next plates. Since this is my second time having this waitress as my server I had to think a minute for the tip. Last time I gave a 10% tip I believe. The minimum of what I will usually ever do since I usually tip $10 on a $25 meal. Today though since her service is the same and not changed or any better I gave her a straight $0 tip. I’ve enjoyed this place for more than 5 years and now I will never come back. What the food tastes like it is important, but if the service is lackluster nobody wants to go
