This Grand Forks landmark has been around forever. It’s a converted house and has both sub “grinders” and Mexican favorites including tacos, fan favorite tostadas, and more. Service is great – friendly and accommodating. It was super fast and tasty. More of a dive, but consistently delivers. Prices are good. Plates are paper. The white sauce is highly debated. I liked it!

Good pricing and staff was friendly. The grinder was very bland and soggy. The food was served on a soggy paper plate and the seating area was not clean. The late hours are convenient.

As I was trying to enter the restaurant an employee was literally slamming the door into my body to keep me out. It was 2:04 am and I understand that you guys close at 2:30, but that was not fair of her to ram the door into me and my friend. Especially because she didn’t try to close the door on anyone after us. It is 2:19 am right now and people are being let in freely. It has made me want absolutely nothing to do with this business and I am extremely frustrated with the service we received. We went to Red Pepper frequently and after having to squeeze in and then get yelled at, myself and my friend are 100% done with this restaurant and I will be telling everyone I know about this. It’s a good Grand Forks business, but I felt like a less than appreciated customer tonight and that turned me completely away from them.

Always a must stop when I am in Grand Forks. Food was good as usual. The updates to the restaurant are nice. There wasn’t a wait at all when we stopped in.

It doesn’t look like much but it tastes like great memories. I refuse to pass up a chance for pepper when in the state.
The red sauce will make you spend time on the bathroom so just a heads up. Also, it’s totally worth the time spent!

Late-Night Gem: Original Red Pepper Delivers the Goods!
After hearing about the Red Pepper from my coworker for years, I finally had the chance to experience the Original Red Pepper in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Let me tell you, it lived up to every bit of the hype!
While it may not fit the traditional definition of fine dining, Original Red Pepper hits the spot after a night on the town. And the fact that they’re open late night? Absolute lifesaver!

Everytime I’ve gone here they give me like 5 chips with my tortilla soup and I watch them give other way more.

I’m from Maryland but my wife’s from grand forks MN and went up to visit family and she suggested I try this place. OMG I’d go there everyday if we had this around Maryland. The tacos were so simple but ooh so flavorful. Anyone that is around this area must go to the original red pepper.. my wife even made us bring home their white and red sauce 4oz containers . If you want some old taco bell prices but with much better than any Mexican restaurant tacos you must go there. You won’t regret it. I just wish I could of got their recipe to what’s in their taco meat.. So freaking good

Like many, I’ve been eating here for decades.
It’s always delicious. Easy to take one on a plane. You know how airline food tastes.
Red Pepper never disappoints!
