My choice of app was the calamari. The coating was light, the calamari accompanied by a marinara sauce, delicious. I wasn’t overly impressed by the crab dip. My companions loved it.
I got a chef’s special, pork tenderloin with Brussel Sprouts and mashed sweet potatoes. It was such a delectable choice! So good. My husband’s chicken was fine, he said. My sister’s filet steak ( requested medium rare) was dry, sent back, and re-cooked. Bread was brought and it was good but when asked for a refill, it was slow on the return.
There was a huge party in a back room but we wouldn’t have known it if we weren’t told. Our area was quiet and none of the staff seemed stressed.
I’d go back and give them another chance.

We went tonight because a server at another restaurant recommended we try it. We were seated downstairs. There were a total of 6 tables, and two servers, from what we could tell. We were never acknowledged, and even the table sat after us have drinks immediately, and then having their orders taken shortly after that. We were still never acknowledged after being there quite a while now. We got up and left. It’s a shame because the menu looked good.

Food was a bit overpriced…it’s about $24 for a 8 oz sirloin with 2 sides..side salad is an extra 2.50. Ordered medium well and came out well done, a little bland without steak sauce, and was pretty tough. Not horrible though. Got the avocado burger, which was about $15 that got served with chips. Also wanted it medium well it came out well done, but not burnt or anything. The menu wasn’t too varied, but had a decent amount of options. Overall all the food wasn’t bad and would return. Rebecca was our waitress and she was pretty good. Did have to ask a few times for info on the dessert I wanted (if they had it). The French apple pie was good though, no complaints. And the restaurant was a very gorgeous design. They do have layers/some seating areas are down steps. You do get to sit with candles lit at the tables as well. I went just with my dad but could definitely be good for a date night.

What a great place! Indoor and outdoor seating, with a bar area. Menu that has delicious options for all tastes and reasonable prices for everything. Daily lunch/dinner/drink specials. Attentive staff. Highly recommend.

I stepped in for lunch with some friends. I wasn’t sure what I was getting until I saw the specials. I had the fried chicken pimento cheese sandwich. I usually get salads when I eat out, but decided to splurge. I’m sure glad I did. This sandwich may have been one of the best I’ve had. The chicken was fried and was delicious! The pimento cheese was put on top. It kind of melted into the sandwich. It was so good. It came with a side of fries, which were also great! Great service also! We also had a mimosas, yum!

Have been there several times and it’s always a good experience. Steaks one night. Another time the smash burger. All very tasty. Also has a great assortment of wines and spirits. I like the coffee as well. Highly recommend. Next visit I’ll go into more detail and provide photos.

Our group of 17 had a Thursday lunch reservation at Howlett’s. I didn’t know what to expect as I was not excited about this restaurant the last time I visited several years ago.
Thursday, our group was placed in a
separate room. The room was perfect in size and the tables were put together and set up very nicely. The place was very clean and we heard no noise from the rest of the restaurant.
Howlett’s provided one server (Reese) for our large group. What surprised me throughout the lunch was how effective and efficient our service was. The kitchen did an excellent job of getting the food out in a great time, considering the size of our group. The quality of food, for my wife and me, was very good. I did hear from others that specific items were not as good as what I had, but this review is from my experience.
I have no doubt that we will return to Howlett’s.
Thanks go to Reese for her excellent service and to the kitchen for the quality and timing of food and beverages.

Food and service here are consistently good. They have unique items like Fried Devilled Eggs, which are super! The chicken on my salad was well-seasoned… so much it could be an entree by itself.

This is review is for a takeout order. Ribs were dry and cooked in some sort of oil that reminded me of old oil. Did not finish the ribs. Brussel sprouts were so overdone they were black and brown and falling apart. Fried Deviled Eggs, not sure how a fried hard boiled egg is considered and fried deviled egg. There was no deviled part of the egg on top or in the middle, just a plain fried hard boiled egg. Waste of money. Philly Cheesesteak was pretty good.
