We had a great extended lunch here! We went in the middle of the week, it was a calm day. The food was absolutely delicious. It is pricy, but all the ingredients are so fresh and of the highest quality. Definitely check out their specials, some of those were discounted but still amazing! Loved our mango tango roll! Probably the best thing we had, and that one was just $10.

I probably wouldn’t pick the sushi dragon balls again, although each ingredient was top notch, very yummy, and it was served in a magical way. It was just a bit too much rice for me. That rice is absolutely delicious though!

We also had the very tasty yakitori platter, the market fresh oysters (devine!), miso soup, salad, rice bowl with beef, etc….

Servers were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere and the decor is the finishing touch. It’s so cozy, you don’t want to leave.

I’ll have to come back for happy hour or dinner time, because the only thing we had to miss out on were the cocktails. These are not offered during lunch. Luckily, you can still have some sake. Not on the menu: their delicious warm house sake. Ask for it!

Looking forward to come back and try other things on their menu. There are some great classics, but also some fusion on it. I honestly wanted to try it all. This was for a date night, but next time we’ll bring the kids too. The place looks pretty easy going and I think the kids would love both the decor and the food! The Japanese eighties music was a great touch.

You can’t deny how phenomenal and beautiful the environment of Izakaya Nana. It’s even surprising given that it’s just in a normal plaza and from the outside, you wouldn’t realize just how nice it is inside.

I went here for a cute little sibling dinner for Valentines and we made our reservation ahead of time. No issues on that end and we got the coolest table that felt like we were truly in Japan

Got a good variety of dishes: Wagyu fried rice, Salmon roll, Edamame, Chicken Karrage, and two different Yakitoris.

I was really excited for good quality food. I definitely tasted how fresh the salmon was. The waiter made a note about how fresh their fish is as well. The Wagyu fried rice wasn’t worth the price to me but still relatively yummy. Chicken Karrage was crunchy and good but parts of it felt undercooked. Yakitori’s surprisngly ended up being my fave!

The dessert was also my favorite part!!! Being able to hold our danggo over actual fire was such an amazing experience.

I’d love to come back another time and see if there are any dishes that will wow me a bit more! Still a great experience.

It was our first visit to Izakaya Nana for a family lunch, and it absolutely won us over! The atmosphere is amazing – we reserved a table in advance (recommended based on other reviews) and were given a really lovely spot.

We ordered almost all of the rolls on promotion and every single one was simply delicious. Our personal favorite was the miso salmon roll (if I remember correctly) a must-try! We also shared a regular ramen, and the portion was surprisingly generous – easily enough for the three of us.

The Yakitori Platter was so good that we ended up ordering extra yakitori separately, including a sausage one which was a fun surprise.

For dessert, we went with the Dango Tango, and it was a highlight of the meal – you actually roast it yourself right at the table, which made for a really entertaining and memorable experience.

Overall, we genuinely loved both the food and the vibe of this place. We’ll definitely be back!

The best Izakaya in the Northern VA area! The food was delicious and tasted legit, as in authentic. We ordered the yakitori platter, it was an excellent choice for appetizer. Then we had seaweed salad as part of appetizer and it was superb. It makes you want to eat more of it. We never had it that good. My son had the sukiyaki set plate, my husband had the chicken karage set plate. I had the grilled Hamachi. Yummy! They were all delicious. We will be back for more,!

I’m genuinely disappointed with my experience at Izakaya Nana (Chantilly). I made a reservation two months in advance, yet when we arrived we were treated like walk-ins. To make things worse, when I called ahead to update the reservation, staff said it was fine — but once we showed up, they told us we “took away business from them,” which was an incredibly unprofessional thing to say to paying guests.

Service was rude and careless from start to finish. We were even served undercooked chicken karaage, and our server didn’t acknowledge the mistake or offer any apology. At one point, they brought my entrée to the table and then took it back, saying it was actually meant for another party ahead of us. The overall handling of the evening felt disorganized and disrespectful.

This was also supposed to be a birthday dinner, and that experience was ruined as well. They brought out my birthday dessert while half of my party was absent, and the server didn’t bother checking if everyone was present — so half my group missed the colorful birthday sign and “Happy Birthday” presentation.
Billing was just as frustrating. We ordered 3 green teas, yet we were charged for a 6-person tea service and told it was “company policy,” even though only three people were drinking tea. On top of that, we were charged auto gratuity despite having fewer than 6 guests, which makes no sense.

Food-wise, we ordered a lot hoping it would redeem the night, but unfortunately it didn’t:
Matcha Colada
Yakitori (Chicken Thigh with Leek & Pork Belly) — dry and not flavorful
Sashimi Deluxe — fish didn’t taste fresh, more like frozen; shrimp was extra slimy
Inari Sushi — the salmon one tasted off
California Roll
Chili Garlic Edamame
Takoyaki
Oden
Karaage Chicken
Brussels Sprouts Tempura — told it’s best without condiments, but we didn’t agree; enjoyable in small amounts, better shared
Kaki Fry — fishy taste
Agedashi Tofu

Between the rude service, food safety issue, messy handling of our reservation, questionable freshness, and incorrect charges, I wouldn’t recommend this place — especially not for a birthday dinner.

Great food in an enchanting atmosphere. Lots of menu choices- from noodles, to sushi, dumplings, seafood, wagyu, soups, skewers- the options were dizzying, and everything looked incredible. The interior design / Japanese decorations are just as remarkable. I absolutely loved the private booth spaces. Our server was exceedingly friendly and helpful. The food came out delicious. I can think of no downsides other than the cost- though I found the experience to be more than worth it. I would highly recommend giving this place a try- it would even be worth a long drive.

We enjoyed the Manga Lunch Menu featuring Gyudon and Tonkatsu Ramen. We also got
the Impossible Unadon, the Yakitori Platter, and the Dango Tango, and everything exceeded our expectations.

We had the best experience at Izakaya Nana the first time we visited, and coming back for the Manga Lunch Menu somehow made it even better. The lunch sets are incredibly well thought out, with so many delicious side dishes that make the meal feel generous, balanced, and satisfying. There are so many options to choose from on the menu that it’s easy to find something whether you want comfort food, something hearty, or something lighter.

What really sets Izakaya Nana apart is the atmosphere. The attention to detail in every themed room is incredible, from the decor to the lighting, and it truly feels like stepping back into Japan. The indoor Japanese alleyway vibe adds to the immersive experience and makes the restaurant feel fun, lively, and unique. It’s not just a place to eat, it’s an experience.

The food itself is consistently amazing and never disappoints. Everything is full of flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. Izakaya Nana delivers a truly immersive Japanese cultural and culinary experience, and with such a wide variety of dishes, there is genuinely something for everyone. It’s easily one of our favorite restaurants in the DMV area, and we always look forward to coming back.

I came here today for dinner with my siblings and my mom. I ordered the Chicken Yakisoba and later for dessert had requested a scoop of green matcha ice cream. The guy serving us was very honest and helpful and extremely friendly. Atmosphere of this place was very awesome with all of the Japanese culture scenery. I will most definitely come back here again.

The restaurant is cozy. I love the decorations so much. The food tastes really good. Only when we grilled our A5 wagyu, the people at the table next to us seemed unhappy because of the smoke. The wagyu tasted so good, and we will definitely do it again next time. The service was very friendly. Recommend.

Great Japanese restaurant in Chantilly!
I went for lunch with a friend on a Monday, close to their Noon opening time and we were probably the second group to walk in. We were immediately seated at a cozy booth that could hold up to four people. Our booth and surrounding area were decorated with Japanese lanterns and artwork. The menu had manga inspired illustrations and lots of intriguing options. We had the Buns Nana as a starter (very good) and I chose the Spicy Miso Ramen (excellent). My friend had the Sukiyaki Teishoku (very good). Service was attentive and our booth included a call button on the wall which we didn’t need to use. Prices were reasonable for lunch and portion sizes were great.
I’ll definitely plan to return soon and try more menu options.
