Definitely not what it was back then.
Skin was crispy but had a burnt oil taste. Maybe because I ordered a couple hours before closing? Idk. So disappointed. Drove 25 miles.
I can only tell I wish the size of the side sauces you pay for was bigger and they also offered meals (like fish) in 6 pieces.
Other than that it was amazing fried fish I enjoyed way more than fried chicken
The last truly authentic Pioneer chicken today.
The place takes you back in time with its frozen in 1980s menu and dining room.
The employees are kind and humble.
The food is oh so good the chicken strips are giant and the bone in chicken is unmatched accept to maybe Roscoes chicken n waffles.
Don’t sleep on the corn sweet and cooked to perfection
Parking is limited but well planned, so don’t give up, find, or wait for a spot as most take the orders to go.
Do yourself a favor and support this legendary Los Angeles Gem
Friendly and helpful staff.
Clean dining room.
Clean restroom.
Chicken was delicious, moist, flavorful, and crispy.
Macaroni salad was good.
Mash potatoes and gravy were simple.
The biscuits are more like bread.
Will definitely be back.
