My boyfriend was craving sushi, so we tried Osaka Sushi in Layton since we were up that way. It was a cute location, very slow for a Saturday afternoon, but we might have caught it right before the lunch/dinner rush. We shared the spicy edamame. It was really good! I loved the sauce on these. We also shared an order of gyoza. It was really hot & fresh when we received it. My boyfriend really liked these. I ordered a vegetarian roll. It was okay, not my favorite. My boyfriend ordered the 7 piece nigiri. He was a little worried because it was chefs choice, but he ended up liking it. He wasn’t sure that the light colored fish was & said he would never order that if he had the choice because he loves tuna nigiri but he said it was really good. The light colored fish had a more salty taste to it. He also ordered a sushi roll, however I cannot remember which kind it was for the life of me. He liked it though.

I ordered to go but went inside to pick it up. It was a beautiful place and I would eat in if I lived closer.
Ordered a Mexican roll, Marg roll, teriyaki beef and a chicken roll, gyoza, and sunomo
And let me just say all of it was soooo good! I don’t have any complaints at all! The rolls were held together wonderfully. I’ve gone to places where they just fall apart. There was non of that. The fried rolls were perfect, I worried they might be greasy but not at all. Everything was great.

Osaka Layton has quickly become one of my go-to spots for sushi, and for good reason – the food is consistently fantastic! Every roll I’ve tried has been fresh, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. Their sashimi is top-notch, and the special rolls are creative and delicious. If you’re looking for quality sushi in the Layton area, this place definitely delivers on taste.
However, a word to the wise: if you’re planning to visit during peak hours (especially dinner on weekends), be prepared for a wait. Both getting a table and receiving your food can take a significant amount of time when they’re busy. The staff works hard, but the popularity of the place means they can get overwhelmed.
My strongest recommendation is to always make a reservation beforehand, especially if you’re on a schedule or just don’t like waiting. Doing so will significantly improve your experience and ensure you can enjoy their excellent food without the frustration of a long wait. Despite the rush hour challenges, the quality of the sushi makes it well worth the visit if you plan accordingly!

This restaurant is a favorite of mine and a good friend. I always love the calm, serene atmosphere and the authenticity of Japanese cuisine. My friend ordered the egg rolls, bento box and california rolls and said they all were was phenomenal! I also ordered egg rolls as well as the Yakisoba noodles and they were delicious!! For dessert, we both had the mini cheesecake. My friend and I were celebrating both of our birthdays and we had the pleasure of having Gin as our server. She was incredibly friendly and attentive to our needs and went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. She never rushed us, despite us leaving shortly after their afternoon closing time. We always enjoy our time here and absolutely will be coming back!

I had such a wonderful experience at this restaurant, and a big part of that was our server, Gin. She truly made my friend and me feel so special during our birthday week celebration. From the moment we sat down, she was professional, warm, and incredibly welcoming.
We never felt rushed at all, which allowed us to relax and really enjoy our time. Gin went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, and her positive energy made the entire experience even better.
I would absolutely recommend requesting Gin as your server if you visit. She made our celebration memorable, and we will definitely be coming back again!

Definitely skip this place if you are looking for authentic Japanese food. Miso ramen was bland with overcooked noodles. I asked how is the gyoza prepared and they said deep fried which is an American thing. They said they would pan fry it which is the way it would be served in Japan, however, when it was brought out it was deep fried. I had told them I didn’t want to order gyoza if it was deep fried. So disappointing. The only thing authentic was the Japanese beer.

The people were nice, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was really cool but I had the most mid teriyaki chicken of my life. I could’ve made it at home in like half an hour and it wouldve been cheaper. Nice people but the teriyaki chicken needs help. Soup was good. Im aware its a sushi place and not a teriyaki place.

I always go to Osaka on Tuesdays to enjoy the 50% off sushi rolls, because who doesn’t love a good deal that allows you to eat like a king without breaking the bank? In my humble opinion, it’s the best sushi you can find north of Salt Lake. Seriously, I’m pretty sure the fish are happier than I am!
If you want to try a variety of sushi, check out the options shown in the picture below that I posted. I mean, you have to live a little, right? If you’re not experimenting with raw fish, are you even living? Just be warned: one roll leads to another, and before you know it, you’re in a full-blown sushi coma, dreaming of wasabi and soy sauce!

They have half off Tuesday’s which is great.
Been here several times.
My favorite rolls are the Eel, Rattlesnake, and the Spider.
The tempura soft shell crab was not good. It was like 80% batter and 20% soft shell crab.
The poke bowls are pretty good.
Overall, every time I come back I feel like the quality drops. Recently my rolls are mostly stuffed with rice and cucumbers.
