At first, I was very skeptical about how this place would be mainly because of the way the building looked from the outside (plain). However, I was blown away by the decor of the restaurant once I stepped inside. You have private seating, beautiful fish tank, A well-stocked bar. But the most important aspect of this is the food. To put it bluntly, the food was amazing! You can tell the chef takes great pride and how he presents the dishes. The variety was amazing as well. You can have yourself either a Korean cuisine or awesome sushi. We tried both just so that we can bring you our honest opinion. The staff was friendly and a tentative. I definitely recommend this place. This restaurant is nothing short of outstanding.

Very good sushi at reasonable prices. 2 for 1 drinks for Happy Hour (4-6) during weekdays. Decent enough service when we were there on a busy Friday. We plan to return to try more of their specialty rolls.

We ate here many times and it was always consistently delicious food and services. Nice and friendly staffs. Great sushi, delicious Korean food. Love the happy hours from 4-7pm when you can get buy 1 get 1 beer or house wines.

We’ve seen this place on Facebook and decided to try it. However, it was a disappointment. The Korean dish was good but the sushi was just ok. Not impressed with the taste; they were very blend being specialty rolls. Service was not great. We sat there for about 10 minutes after we were done with our meal trying to get our check and pay. Then, our server literally walked away without saying anything in the middle of us trying to make the payment.

Wow. So amazing . I love there sushi i haven’t had sushi for atleast 6 months. There Mount Fuji was awesome and also there moms the bomb HIGHLY reccomended lobster roll. Cali of COURSE…oh and there Philadelphia roll. With the smoke salmon to die for!!!!!!!….. they have amazing service. Every server/ manager ive come in counter with has been extremely sweet. And extremely nice ❤️ they take my order quick . Bring my drinks right away . They made me feel at home. Thank you for giving me a really good experience at MATOI SUSHI. Good koreon/ Japanese food. Please come here if you love sushi….. and spicy foods . So! GOOD! Love it here will be returning . ❤️❤️ thanks again xoxoxo

Great service with a smile, and even better sushi. Try their New Tampa Roll and the Volcano Roll! The ambiance of the restaurant is so cozy, you won’t regret visiting this place. From their menu, try the Korean kalbi and the udon. Delicious!

I have come back here many times since my post 3 years ago, but I really recommend anyone that want some fresh sushi to come here! The waitress here is so motherly loving and welcoming! I spilled a little kimchi sauce on my shirt and she came and tried to remove the stain for me! They are so welcoming and their sushi is the best in Tampa! The presentation and the freshness of the sushi is just melt into your tongue! The price is reasonable for the quality of their food!

Best sushi in Tampa Bay. We had the Mt.Fugi roll, Dynamite roll & the Volcano roll. All we’re fantastic. Nice quiet dining but it does get busy and loud in peek hours. Eating at 4 has worked great. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
