Stopped in here on my trip and it did not disappoint! This place takes you back in time and gives you all the nostalgic feels. All the food is hand made from scratch & delicious and Ted’s frostop rootbeer lives up to the name it’s insanely tasty best rootbeer I’ve had! The rootbeer float that was a dream , there icecream is real icecream none of that store bought stuff you cannot get anything like this anywhere! Ted’s is definitely one of a kind no wonder it’s been around since 1926! I’m glad I stopped in here and gave it a try it was worth it. Definitely Put this on your New Orleans list!

Frost Top is a true New Orleans diner and a must-visit if you’re looking for classic diner food in New Orleans. This local NOLA diner has been a staple for years, and it shows in both the food and the service.
The breakfast at Frost Top is excellent—eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, grits, and biscuits are always cooked right and served fast. Their breakfast plates and omelets are filling, affordable, and perfect whether you’re a local or visiting New Orleans.
Lunch is where Frost Top really shines. The burgers, fries, hot dogs, and po’ boys are exactly what you want from a classic American diner in New Orleans. Everything tastes fresh, hot, and made to order, and the portions are generous. It’s also a great spot if you’re searching for late-night food in New Orleans or a casual diner near me.
The atmosphere has that old-school New Orleans diner vibe—simple, clean, and comfortable. The staff is friendly, fast, and welcoming, delivering real Southern hospitality every time.
If you want good prices, quick service, and authentic diner food, Frost Top is one of the best diners in New Orleans. Perfect for breakfast, lunch, or late-night eats, and a spot locals keep coming back to.
Highly recommended if you want a real NOLA diner experience.

Disgusted. Unfortunately there is no easy way to write that I was poorly treated simply based on my appearance. The lady at the counter treated us very poorly, acted like it was inconvenience for us to be there. Our root beer floats did not come in a nice cold mug, the root beer was nothing special, and about 2 more inches could have gone in the paper cup. The next customer the employee interacted with was not the same appearance as me and they were greeted with smiles and the employee was very nice to them. I find this disgusting especially as I am wearing clothing that clearly identified me as a US Military Combat Veteran. This is horrendous behavior and we were very disappointed. We made a special trip from the French quarter to eat at this “iconic” place. Never again, absolutely furious by how we were treated and the food wasn’t special either and the parking is a disaster to get into. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

I loved it. The atmosphere was like a old hamburger stand. The 60s music that was playing was amazing. the hamburger and fries were excellent. The root beer floats are delicious.

Every time we are in NOLA, we drive by, and it’s always closed. The towering float always beckons me. The burgers are good, the onion rings are crispy, the floats, shakes, malts, & fries are exactly as they should be – tasty!! The service was fantastic! I told the cashier it was our first time in, and she was super helpful!
We’ll be back.

Every college/university has a reasonably priced burger spot close by. This is one for Tulane Universit according to our son. I did not have the burger today, but the egg bowl with chicken, potatoes, and cheese was really good. The biscuit was buttery and perfect. I tasted my husband’s pancakes, and they were good, too. Our son had French toast sticks and bacon.

It’s been YEARS since I’ve had Frostop. I’ve been scoping this location for a while now, and I finally decided to stop in. It was nice to see it still has that old diner style. It was very clean with a relaxing atmosphere! I got the Lot-O-Burger with cheese, and it was super delicious!!!! It still has that old-fashioned burger taste. Something that’s hard to find these days.
Some of the newer, more modern burger joints are good, but none of them comes close to the taste of the old-fashioned ones!! It’s like no other. The fries were good and seasoned well. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious!!

The older lady with missing teeth that took our order was very disrespectful to us. We were going to order milkshakes and she said “no milkshakes.” I said oh, she said “machines broke, you can see it.” I said I guess we will have a root beer float then. She seemed quite annoyed to have to wait on us. If I had it to do over, I would have walked out then. She was extremely rude and the root beer floats sucked. We traveled a great distance to come to the establishment. I will NEVER return and would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Absolutely no call for the disrespect. The parking lot was a disaster as well. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED.
