This place was fantastic! Our waitress was super and very knowledgeable. I did the house flight and my husband got a 16oz looking out. We shared the cheddar beer bread which was delicious and a great snack before our food come to the table. I had the herb grilled salmon sandwich and he had the Reuben. Both were great but a tad messy from all the sauce and both came with a ton of French fries. I added a strawberry basil hefeweizen and it was nothing like I’ve tasted before and highly recommend it if you like the style and flavor profile. There were so many great options between the beers and dishes it was hard to decide but we will be back to sample more. The atmosphere was great as well there are NO tvs so it sets a guiet tone to talk and chat. Service did pick up as it got closer to dinner, we dined around 2:30 for a late lunch. Do yourself a favor and go check this place out, you won’t be sorry!

We really enjoyed our experience at Forbidden Root. We had the pierogies, the soft pretzels, the curry noodle salad, and the hot Nashville chicken sandwich. Everything was really good. Two of our group enjoyed the beer selection. Another got some coffee martini type drink that was excellent. Definitely worth a visit.

Very tasteful atmosphere and good service. FB beer is always excellent and the “best of” flight was great. The hummus and salsa appetizers were ok. Perogies were excellent (Tuesday only). Ribeye sandwich was dry. Her salmon sandwich was decent. Brussels sprouts were excellent. Would go again for beers without hesitation!

HORRIBLE FOOD AND HORRIBLE SERVICE
I came here with family a few weeks ago for a birthday dinner that we had a reservation for. When we made the reservation it was made for three groups because we had 16 guests.
For starters, the waiter was incredibly rude. When asking us to place our orders while we quite obviously weren’t ready to order, impatiently stood there tapping his pad on his hand instead of asking if we needed more time. Additionally we had to ask for silverware that we weren’t provided with until our food arrived and when he did bring them he didn’t hand them out. He dropped them all in front of one person in our party to pass out instead of distributing them himself (even though we were seated at two different tables).
When it came time to pay, he brought us one check with everyone’s orders on it. We requested that the check be split amongst the guests and we were told that they were unable to do so. So, we then requested that it be split amongst the reservations since we had reserved under three parties and still they wouldn’t agree do that until someone gave them a debit card.
This experience was incredibly disappointing as we had made sure to make a reservation to prevent any confusion/ overwhelm the staff. Not to mention the food was extremely underwhelming as were the drinks. I would not recommend this place to anyone nor would I ever come back. The staff was extremely rude and impatient and overall it was a horrible experience for everyone.

Much better than I expected. My grown son chose this for his birthday dinner, probably due to the beer. I tried 3 of the 5oz. All good. Moravia dark especially good. Food was much better than expected. We shared the pierogis (Tuesday special). My wife prefers all the “stuff”inside, i.e. pirozhkis but these were authentic with cabbage and sauce on outside/mashed potatoes and cheese inside.
She liked the smash burger. Thought it was one of best (thin, crispy, no pink). My son had the Reuben and fries (fries thin and crispy). I had the short ribs. Delicious, but priciest thing on menu and small portion of meat, so maybe not best value.

Now let me start with ive always had good food good service and drinks this isnwhy I choose it.
However unfortunately the food i got tonight was un edible
The wings were so.pale and no crisp soggy and the sandwich I got was alittle my fault I thought I was getting shaved Riley sandwich like a cheesesteak instead it was a slab of Ribeye meat but it tasted like mystery meat or some old.school liver my great grandmother would make had to spit it out.
It was so bad.
I would think they chef would of tried this

Definitely a great place for microbrews, a fair selection on draft and cans. Very friendly service, our waitress Heather was great. Food was just OK. Duck and Dumplings was not as good as other people said in their reviews. Duck meat was lean, Ricotta Gnocchi was nicely soft, but the whole dish lack a good flavor. The portion was small. My husband had a double FR burger and he said it was nothing special. Beef patties were slightly over cooked. If you like sauerkraut, you will like the Pork & Sauerkraut Balls. It was delicious. This is not a place I would revisit.

We had a really great dinner experience here on a Friday evening. Staff was very accommodating and I was surprised that they were able to seat a party of 7 without a wait. The food was delicious – I particularly enjoyed their grilled salmon burger which was seasoned nicely. I also enjoyed the lively ambience and lighting. Overall awesome restaurant in Easton and will definitely return here!

Food was ust okay, not bad but not great either. We decided that with all the other places there are to go, it’s not a spot we will revisit. I had the spinach salad with dried cherries and pecans, it was good but the dressing lacked in flavor. I was looking forward to trying the corn chowder since not that many places offer it. It didn’t live up to my expectation, tasted pre-made and nothing special.. such a bummer. Hubs had the ribeye sandwich and fries, said it was just okay. Our server was great and atmosphere was good for a brewery setting. Thing that bothered us most of all is that they charge a credit card fee!!! Not a fan of this practice at all. It’s an expense thats part of doing business. We won’t return but do t feel like we will be missing much. Sorry Forbidden Root, just my honest review.
