My husband is an Airforce Vet. For Veterans day we went here, Applebees for his “Free-Veterans Day” meal. We were both surprised, after being seated. How quickly the wait time passed us by, and we were being seated at our table. They were extremely busy, but with all the dedication the showed for their job and their “Team Work.” We didnt even realize it. Our waitress was prompt at greeting us at our table, asking for our drink order, coming back for our food order and then following up several times throughout our meal. Making sure we were pleased with everything and that our drinks were kept full! After placing our order, the food was quickly delivered to our table, fresh, hot and delicious! We had several options that night, on where to go for my husbands Veterans Day Meal. He chose Applebee’s, because that’s where we had our first date, over 15 years ago! We have been back, numerous times since that first date. The food and service has only gotten better! Keep up making that hot, fresh and delicious foid and keep being kind, and caring. Showing to everyone who chooses your restaurant for a meal. What exceptional, “Team work,” is all about! You’ll definitely keep then coming back and wanting more!

On a rare evening, I was having a sleepover with my granddaughter. I took my 9-year-old granddaughter out for an evening meal at Martinsburg Applebee’s location. Our server was very nice. The food was horrible. As I cleared my granddaughters bowl I found a dirty stamp/sticker in her macaroni and cheese.
Manager came over apologized but never asked for her name or any contact information to check on how she’s been since the incident.
Dirty not clean restaurant. I’m not sure if it came off of the floor or what. Very disappointed.
I’m updating because no one ever reached out from Applebee’s and acknowledged accountability for serving food that was contaminated with a a produce sticker/ with ink in my granddaughters food.

1May.2024 Went here for the first in this area. Service was good. The mozzarella sticks and bacon stuffed potato’s were ok.
The mixed drinks were good and service was the same. It was not packed so the food came out at a timely manner. The decor is of the local university athletes and downtown area of West Virginia.

Never had a issue with them before but we went recently and ordered a 12oz ribeye with gralic mash potatoes and the Mac n cheese. My partner got the Cajun seafood rice bowl. Tell me why they thought to serve me the thinnest fattiest piece of poorly looking ribeye I’ve ever seen. The whole thing was fat with my 3oz of actual meat in the middle. Can Applebees not afford good quality cow???
The waitress tried to say that how ribeyes are and I was like girl I can go over to Outback and I bet their ribeye looks nothing like that. Asked her to just switch it for a 8oz sirloin instead and that took forever to come out. My partner was trying to wait for me to get my food and his went cold. Worse experience ever. Won’t be back that’s for sure.

If you’re sick stay home. Don’t tell the customers you’re sick and use it as an excuse for not even taking our order. We waited at the bar over 15 minutes before she brought us menus. What she didn’t know was I got up and got menus for us. Tells us she’s sick gives us menus and walks away. Never asked us what we’d like to drink. Btw, we were sitting at the bar. Hello, drink order please. Duh we’re sitting at the bar. Did I say we were at the bar and she never asked us what drinks we want. Unknown stars for food and drinks because we didn’t stay around to find out. 0 stars for service…what service?

Revisited this Applebees as it is close to our home. First, it was not overly crowded so that was nice
The service was more than adequate as our server was on point.
The food that we got was cooked properly and hot when it arrived at the table. All items arrived as ordered.
Pricing was on par with most places in our area.

Our waitress was pleasant enough when we saw her. Our food took 45 minutes to get to the table. She never came over while we waited for food. Never came over to say sorry for the wait or if we wanted anything while we waited. In fact she was no where to be found. When she took our order we had asked for a refill on our drinks that never came. We had to ask again when our food was delivered. The food was just OK. It felt like there were no cooks. We were not the only ones waiting for service or food. We have eaten there before and was always good.

9pm on a on Friday, and they were not busy. It was kind of nice. The atmosphere was welcoming and inviting.
Our bartender was on here game. We had ordered appetizers, and without hesitation, she informed us that they would be half price in 15 min. Thank you. She didn’t have to do that. That is service. That is looking out for the guest. We had mozzarella sticks and the pretzel sticks. Both were pretty good. I really liked the pretzels (much better than Red Robin).

Walked in at 8:39pm on Oct 8, 2025 and Stood waiting at the hostess stand for about 4 minutes while 3 lady servers sat at the bar talking. male bartender was on duty and witnessed us there but never said anything at all.
Eye contact was made with the servers but no one approached us. I assume they were waiting on the hostess that was back in bathroom area?? No idea. No customers were at the bar at all. 5 total tables were there upon our arrival.
Finally the server waiting on her table near the door greeted us.
It was pretty dead and asked if we could pick a table as it was pretty bright in there but were confined to a designated area of their choosing. Bright, like a tanning bed and just as lonely. We were told Rylee I believe she said would be with us. Not sure name but I think that’s what she said.
We sat patiently reading the menu. Multiple times. Never saw anyone. Never got a drink order. We just sat there. 10 minutes easy I would say.
We finally left. No one stopped to help. No manager in sight. Poor poor service there.
Went over to Outback at 9:10pm and were Immediately seated and had a wonderful server. Drinks within 2 minutes. Food fast. Finished and out the door before closing at 10! Friendly and outgoing staff. Brad was awesome!! Ask for him.
People of Martinsburg Applebee’s, if you do not wanna work, GO HOME OR QUIT. If you do not take pride in your work, move on.

The food is absolute slop. Mashed potatoes are tasteless. I ordered a strawberry chicken salad and threw it out; the berries were pale, dry, and stuck together. The “fresh greens” was wilted, chopped romaine and iceberg lettuce. The prepackaged salads at Walmart are better quality. The staff are kind and I can see they’re trying their best, but this food is horrific. Applebees isn’t what it used to be.
