We have been here several times. The food is slightly upscale and extremely delicious. Their cookies are legendary. I don’t care for sugar cookies, but there’s are voted best in state.
However, the thing that truly sets them apart is the employees. Always charming and friendly. My granddaughter dropped a cheap homemade necklace between the seats in the waiting area. The waitress and manager spent the better part of 15 minutes working to retrieve it. They finally went next door and got chopsticks and taped them together for a tool long enough to receive it.
I should have gotten their names, but I failed. I don’t think it’s a stretch to imagine any of the employees at Hug-Hes doing this. Truly great people and a great restaurant. Ogden’s very best!

First time dining here, we had a great experience. The food was good and the vibe was welcoming.
I also saw a young server deal with a very demanding guest over seating, can you imagine losing your mind over something so trivial? I would have been so embarrassed to be in her party. (If you see a 1 star review tonight, that’s the Karen, ignore her, her food looked great after her hissy fit.) Anyway, the server handled it way better than most adults would. She stayed calm and professional the whole time. It really stood out to me.
Our experience was great and we’ll absolutely be back.

We had a really nice experience overall. Our server was friendly, attentive, and did a great job taking care of us. There was a bit of confusion with the food descriptions, though. My husband ordered a sandwich with “shoestring fries,” but they turned out to be regular fries. They were still good, just not what we expected, so the menu wording could use some clarification. I also ordered the fried green beans, thinking they’d be pan-fried, but they were actually deep-fried. They tasted great, but a more accurate description would help set expectations.
All that said, we enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back—just with a few more questions about the menu next time!

Great food! Good service. Local favorite. We didn’t have to wait to be seated. Sometimes there is a short wait. We liked the boneless BBQ ribs with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The sweet summer salad is a favorite. The cheese curds, fried pickles and onion rings were delicious.

Hannah was absolutely amazing. She has a great personality and was so sweet and attentive. My boyfriend and I had our first date here exactly one year ago tonight. She made it a memorable evening. The food was great! We love this place.

The food was decent. I ordered the blue bacon burger and it okay. Definitely not the best that I’ve ever had – it was a bit dry (in spite of being drenched in a mayo dressing). Beyond the blue cheese, it lacked a lot of flavor. But it was decent. Fries were fantastic – battered and crispy with soft interiors.
Others in our party ordered the pan-seared salmon salad and loved it.
This place wouldn’t be the first place I would go when presented with options. But I wouldn’t dread going here either.

We were in the area with our daughter and decided that we would try something new and this was it.
The restaurant was very nice inside wasn’t expecting that in a strip mall. Inviting to the eye was the cookies and other pastry options on display when we walked in the door.
After a brief wait we were seated and started to look at the menu and it is very expansive.
The food was very good and the service was great as well. This is a very popular lunch so come early or expect to wait a little.

The staff at Hug-Hes tonight were truly a godsend. We were about an hour from home, looking for a place to eat, and decided to stop in. We had our 5-year-old with us and were pleasantly surprised by the variety on the kids’ menu.
While we were waiting for our food, our son suddenly got sick and threw up—nothing related to the restaurant at all. He was panicked, and we needed to head home quickly. As my wife helped clean him up, I worked with the staff to take care of the mess. They were incredibly kind, understanding, and helpful throughout the entire situation.
I was very apologetic and asked if we could cancel our order, and there was absolutely no hesitation. Their only concern was making sure we could get our child home and taken care of. The manager was especially amazing—I didn’t catch her name, but she went out of her way to support us and make sure everything was handled smoothly.
Because of the staff alone, we will definitely be returning. Also, the beer bread was excellent
