The reason for a 2 service rating was when we complained about the calamari portion size the manager didn’t even bother coming over to the table to discuss our concerns. Very poor management. On the other hand our main courses were good. If your hungry I would not get the flank steak salad. Very small portion. The pesto and shrimp pasta was very good and the portion size was right sized. They seem to be very inconsistent on portion sizes.

As soon as you enter the Rathsheller you are transported to a another time where things were simple. If anyone remembers the show “Cheers” , this place is the modern day Cheers. The food was great, service too. This place for me & my sister was a hidden in the Dunellen area. If you are looking for good food that comforts your soul then this is your place . Be sure to try the French Onion Soup and the Lobster Reuben-Yum, Yum

The cozy atmosphere is great especially on a quiet winter day, and the food is very good. I’m not sure if it’s a regular, item but I had an ahi tuna salad sandwich and thought it was great. Very good craft beers on tap which I don’t see too often like Maine Beer Company.

Went here with my family last weekend for the first time. The place has a very cool vibe to it that we all enjoyed. The french onion soups were great. I ordered the short rib special which was super tasty and omg THAT GRAVY!! The manager (or owner?) came to our table to ask how we liked everything which was also nice. What a great find!

Great to eat in or take out. Great menu, always excellent specials, usually seasonal. Lobster Ruben, just get it, it’s that good. The balsamic chicken foccia sandwich is my daughters go to. All the burgers are great, port wine cheddar burger a favorite. Starters are all good crab pretzel melt away a family favorite sharable. Blackened filet bites are good, too. Take care of Scotty at the bar he is a good man and will make sure you are taken care of.

Been coming here for years and it’s continues to be our go to spot. The cozy atmosphere is always warm and welcoming. We have Never had a bad meal there, and the service is always top notch. The bartenders are also always on top of their game. You won’t be disappointed.

Clear that the bartenders/waitresses only want to take care of friends and locals/regulars. One bartender can’t miss 30 seconds of jokes or conversation at other end of bar with her friends to pay attention to order and the other regular one doesn’t even crack a smile as he snaps that “If you want to eat, better order now.” Above average pub grub if you can find anyone to pay attention to you.

Warm cozy atmosphere. I have never had a bad meal here – from burgers, to shrimp pasta pesto, to the Chateaubriand. Large and varied menu. My friends raved about had the scallop scampi appetizers. I don’t know who the chef is at this place but the success of this gastropub lies squarely on his shoulders. The food is always excellent without fail. Keeps you coming back for more. They also have a great beer selection, especially if you like IPA’s.

This restaurant is in the bottom or the cellar of an old hotel that Dunellen hotel great atmosphere. If you’d like, nostalgic or colonial, field stonewalls hand cut beams and the food is good. Prices are amazing I highly recommend this place as well.
