West Tennessee’s legendary whole-hog BBQ tradition is the cornerstone of Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint. Pat Martin learned the art and craft of West Tennessee-style smoke and meat 25 years ago in the tiny town of Henderson, TN before making Nashville his home. It became a consuming passion that eventually led to a business when he opened the first Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint in October of 2006 in Nolensville, Tennessee – just south of Nashville. We come in at 5 am, every day, seven days a week. From the sides to the sauces, everything is made from scratch every single day – You’ll never find a freezer or microwave in our kitchens. But the bar-b-que actually starts a day ahead, as the process for smoking whole hogs simply can’t be rushed.

We got the Family Super #1 and you definitely get a ton of food for the price. The pork was great, and the beans and mac and cheese were really good too. My toddler liked the kids’ cheeseburger.
I’m not a huge fan of the sauces, but I’m used to Florida-style BBQ sauce, so that’s probably just me. Overall, really good food and super easy pickup!
Now to be fair I had seen on the reviews that can sell out of the ribs but I wasn’t expecting them to be out of everything else
We finally landed on the turkey, which was actually pretty good. The beans were also unavailable, but the cornbread hoecake and Mac and cheese were quite tasty. My wife enjoyed her Brunswick stew and green beans as well.
One note for the BBQ purists: they label their pepper/vinegar sauce as “West Tennessee,” but that is textbook East North Carolina style.
The Bottom Line: The staff is friendly, the service is fast, and the prices are fair. However, the atmosphere feels a bit “formulaic” for a BBQ joint, and the lack of inventory at 7:00 PM on a Monday was a major letdown. I’d like to try again, but I probably leave right away if they are sold out of everything again
Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint in Spring Hill, Tennessee, proved to be a delightful dining experience for my brother and me. We were eager to try their renowned Sliced Beef Brisket, and we were not disappointed.
The Sliced Beef Brisket at Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint was a true masterpiece. As soon as the plate was set before us, we could tell that we were in for something special. The brisket was perfectly cooked, boasting a beautiful smoke ring and an enticing aroma that made our mouths water in anticipation. The meat was tender and juicy, practically falling apart with each bite. The flavors were exceptional, with a delectable balance of smokiness and savory notes. The seasoning was spot-on, enhancing the natural flavors of the beef without overpowering them. The brisket had a delightful crust, adding a pleasant textural contrast. It was evident that the chefs at Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint take great pride in their craft, as the brisket was truly outstanding.
While the Sliced Beef Brisket stole the show, we couldn’t resist trying their Wings as well. And boy, were we glad we did! The Wings were cooked to perfection, with a crispy exterior that gave way to succulent and flavorful meat. The barbecue sauce coating the wings was a work of art, striking the ideal balance between tangy and sweet. It provided a delightful zing that elevated the overall taste. The wings were served piping hot, ensuring that we enjoyed them at their best. We were thoroughly impressed with the quality and taste of the wings, proving that Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint excels not only in their brisket but in other menu offerings as well.
The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, with friendly staff members who were attentive to our needs. The rustic decor and relaxed atmosphere added to the overall dining experience, making us feel right at home.
In conclusion, Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint in Spring Hill, Tennessee, exceeded our expectations with their remarkable Sliced Beef Brisket and delectable Wings. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and pay them a visit. Your taste buds will thank you.
