Nice quiet atmosphere for dinner with easy listening music. I’ve been there several times throughout the years. Our server was excellent and very attentive. The sushi was fresh, but very average fair and not the highest quality. Miso soup was ok without tofu and little flavor. Kirin ichiban beer was great in a frosty mug. They serve Korean food as well .

Everything was delicious, we ordered the traditional rolls to share, Tampa, Mexican, Alaskan, Jphilly and avocado Tuna, chk & shrimp fried rice, gyonza, and a bento box with teriyaki salmon. Everybody agreed that they were on point. Drink menu is a bit limited and I wish the QR code to see the menu had pictures specially of the diner options, is hard to order guessing how it will look.

The prices are a bit steep but the food is really, really good! We had with them last night 3 of the best sushi rolls me and my husband ever had and we are people that eat lots of sushi! The server was super nice and sweet. Food came out unexpectedly fast and pretty, you can actually see the care with wich the rols are being assembled and sliced.

Stumbled across this place based on reviews. Fantastic experience and likely the best sushi we have had (and we’ve had a lot!). Our waitress was very knowledgeable and when asked for recommendations she asked our preferences and cross referenced them with their rolls–over 100! Many not on the printed menu! Our favorite was the origami roll (not on the menu). The Red Dragon and Sake Rotika were also great. Awesome experience!

Had the Sushi Nachos, Sake Taski(I can’t remember this one) and the volcano. Presentation was awesome! The service was awesome!
I like my food on the spicy side, the volcano had a great taste and theft a small kick. I definitely recommend you order it.
The sushi nachos were crunchy, but a little bland for me. It was something different and I enjoy different so give it a try.
The Saki T, had a nice flavor and was beautiful to look at. The flavor and heat wasn’t as strong as I would have liked.
All-in-all, I had a great experience here and look forward to going back and trying their wide variety of sushi and sake!

I’ve been to Sushi Maru several times and it has never ceased to please me. Their sushi is always amazing and their staff is very kind. The rice isn’t chewy but not dry, their fish seem to be pretty fresh, and everything in their seems pretty clean. Their spicy tuna has a kick and I love it, I’ve been to some places where their spicy tuna isn’t spicy. Their Mexican roll is perfectly fried. I always like this sushi place when I come to Tampa.

Was a little disappointed with my trip here. Online the reviews mentioned all you can eat sushi buffet. When I got there for lunch the buffet wasn’t an option. They had average sushi specials but that isn’t why I came here.
Just beware, if you want a sushi buffet, go somewhere else.
