Located on Tate Street, Sushi Republic is an award winning sushi restaurant in the heart of Greensboro. Sushi Republic opened the early 2000’s & is located next to the UNCG campus. We have been serving both classic Japanese sushi and diverse fusion dishes inspired from different cultures. we hope to continue and improve upon the tradition of excellence that Sushi Republic is known for.

Went and tried Sushi Republic last Friday night. We were offered to eat outside in the tent they had set up. This was a nice extension to their building. If you are hard of hearing it was really loud for me. The food and was great and we will definitely come back.

Best sushi in Greensboro!! We love the selections of food available. The appetizers we have had are all delicious, our favorite is the Red Snapper Tacos. And the sushi is always delicious and fresh. The staff are very warm and friendly. It’s worth going to if you’ve never been. Definitely deserves 5 stars in all categories!!

This restaurant came up in a search having a great reputation. That is an understatement. The chef prepared a chef’s choice sushi selection for three. The sushi was delicious, fresh and beautiful. Our inaugural visit to Sushi Republic left us with mostly positive impressions. The parking situation can be a tad tight, especially for larger SUVs navigating the ramp. However, for most vehicles, it’s manageable.
The food offerings were decent overall. We particularly enjoyed the fried calamari and found the fried udon to be excellent. The sushi and sashimi platter impressed us with its freshness, although it’s worth noting that they don’t use traditional vinegar rice like authentic Japanese sushi.
The fried rice was a standout—flavorful and satisfying. On the other hand, the chicken skewer and fried tuna mushroom left us somewhat underwhelmed.
The restaurant’s atmosphere and service, however, were delightful. For Americanized Japanese cuisine, the food quality is commendable. Plus, the pricing is quite reasonable. Overall, a positive experience.

Traveling from Chicago, I definitely loved this menu full of specialty rolls! The crab wontons and the tempura green beans were great. I especially enjoyed getting the chef’s choice sushi roll, after giving some vague suggestions about what I typically like.

A tasty little spot among the shops at Tate street. In particular I found the sake selection to be exciting, and the sushi and soup was great. The outside seating was inviting and the staff was helpful and professional.
