InsyaAllah would come again whenever we’re in the States.
The service was top-notch…..our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and went out of their way to recommend dishes that hit the spot. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the whole experience left us stuffed and smiling. This is hands-down the best spot for kabobs and Mediterranean cuisine in the area. Highly recommend to anyone craving real deal flavors!
Unfortunately, things went downhill a bit after that. We sat for about 5–6 minutes without getting any menus, so I ended up grabbing them myself from the front. It then took another 10 minutes before a server came by to take our order — only after my wife waved someone over.
On a brighter note, the ambiance is pleasant — the space feels a little tight but stylish and cozy, with a nice overall vibe.
Our food came out in a reasonable time, though oddly enough, our drinks showed up after the food. The meats and chicken were cooked well, and the portion sizes were generous — we couldn’t even finish our plates. The flavor, however, fell a bit short. Everything was decent but could’ve used more seasoning or depth to really stand out. We’d give the food about a 6/10 overall.
The surprise hit of the night was the chicken tenders, which our 4-year-old absolutely loved and rated an 8/10 (and she’s a tough critic).
In short: good portions and decent food, but slow service and not much flavor. With a few tweaks — especially on service and seasoning — Kanoon could be a much better spot.
Mixed grill was okay!
The Outdoor Seating could use upgrades—our table mats had holes, and there was a slight leak when it rained (though it was manageable).
Overall, some dishes make this place worth visiting, but a few tweaks (especially on the brisket and seating) would be great!
A friend recommended this place because they had halal bbq. She suggested that we arrive hungry. We stop by, starving, on our way to NYC from Boston and we weren’t disappointed.
From the minute we walked in to when I was rolled out in a wheelbarrow (I ate too much), so much I was stuffed, we were treated like kings. Nidal our hostess was very cordial and attentive. She took great care of us.
The food was divine (allahisalmik). I ordered the smoked beef ribs and my son the smoked beef brisket. To a foodie like me, presentation is everything. The food made its grand entrance on a covered wooden tray smoking hot. The ribs were tender, moist, and falling off the bone. The brisket was good, but nowhere near the ribs. I loved everything about this restaurant and highly recommend to all.
Meat is sold by the pound, keep that in mind when you order.
I’ll be stopping by again
I don’t understand what people like about this place. Maybe how they present their food? We had the falafel sandwich, and the smoked beef brisket. The meat had absolutely no flavor besides it being smoked and tender. That’s it. Plain smoked beef.
As an Arabic person, I’ve had better falafel, and the hummus is a disgrace to even consider this place Arabic. It was watered down, can’t taste the garlic or the tahini.
The rice tasted like a failed version of Hispanic rice. Fries are frozen ready fries not fresh. Only thing that was good here is their lemon mint juice and hospitality.
We were here on Tuesday afternoon. Definitely not coming back, definitely wasn’t cooked with Arabic hands.
