You guys need to be more clear on the menu. I waisted 20 dollars on this place for uncooked meat. Clarify next time with your customers when a phone order comes through. You know your services and menu better than your customers, we’re not the cooks.
The pork chop rice was too salty and dry and rough to chew. Feels like it was marinated for too long. I had to use my knife to cut it into small pieces, dip in the sauce to make it easier to consume.
They do charge a credit card fee of 4%? To avoid it , you can pay cash.
Well its not.
It is pretty soild though, nice portion and good flavor.
It has more authentic flavor to it, heavier herb taste, more aromatic. Broth was somewhere in the middle, not clean nor not rich enough.
It’s a small mom and pop restaurant with a laid-back vibe and nothing to brag about, yet it has everything I need to enjoy my meal.
We tried the cha gio tom (001), which is a four-piece shrimp egg roll served with a side of fish sauce. The outside is crispy, but I’m not a fan of the stuffing, which was scarce.
My main course I had pho dac biet (202) which was basically a house special. The broth was light and clear, but it had a strong beef flavor; Rice noodles that are firm and chewy. The brisket, tendon, and meatball are all extremely tender.
I also ordered banh mi thit nuong (102) to go with my pho. The baguette was well toasted and flaky. The pork is flavorful and has a wonderful char grilled scent. The ingredients are fresh, and it complements the sandwich perfectly.
It’s an enjoyable comfort food that hits the spot, and I’m pleased to hear my friend liked it; I know he appreciates Vietnamese cuisine after this visit.
True to the impression when walking in, i had the best pho ever! The depth of the broth is amazing. You can tell on the first slurp the broth is special. You can taste the flavors with the soup, the beef, fish stock and lemon zest. Wonderful!
The spicy pho was really really awesome too. Most spicy pho in Chicago is curry based but this was chilli oil based. So its sweet, zest and spicy. The noodles are a little thicker than the pho which was different and I tuned it paired well.
